    Hi guys please reply,

in last hour i was able to connect to the internet only once.
i am from hyderabad, is any one else from hyderabad facing same the same problem?
and aslo i have read in the forums that it might be because of ungroud cable repairs, pls confirm if my issue is related to it. I have to wait till 2 days (till monday) to log a complaint with BSNL. I have also checked the dail tone of phone and everything seems to be normal with the line.

Also where can i see the SNR, line Attentuation values i am not able to find them any where in my mode pages

My modem is D-Link (GLB ADSL2+ Router)

below is the current status it displays

System Uptime: 5 hours 18 minutes
    DSL Status: Connected
    DSL Speed: 457/1797kbps
    Ethernet: Connected
    USB: Disconnected
    Software Version: 3.7.0B

    1. Check your splitter. All connections should come after splitter.

    2. Bypass the splitter, connect the line directly to the modem and try.

    3. Post your SNR and attenuation values.

    Dilip thnx for replying

    1) Does splitter means the white box that comes with BSNL?

I have the white box (with BSNL manufacture number) through which the line goes directly into the modem. and then there is line out from the modem to use the phone.

    2) as i explained you earlier I am using D-Link modem and not able to find the SNR and attenuation values in modem settings.

So if remove the Splitter and allow the line directly into modem i can see them in the modem settings?

please forgive my ignorance i am a n00b in these things. Please confirm my understandings.

also can you tell me from the modem screen shots above (i have provided all my modem pages), In which page i can see the SNR and attenuation values

Post a snap of your splitter. It is usually a white box as you mentioned. A wire will come to the splitter and splits into two. One will go to modem and other to phone.

Browse through the pages, you will find a table with SNR and attenuation values.

    Hi Dilip,

Please find below the "DS Line Attenuation" and "US Line Attenuation" and some other values found under modem status page, which i don't understand and am still trying to find SNR.

from the picture you posted above, i don not have a splitter. the work of the splitter is being taken care by my modem(router) which has a out line to the phone. (i currently don't have any mode to take pictures ;-()

are the below stats good enough?

    Modem Status

    Connection Status Connected
    Us Rate (Kbps) 431
    Ds Rate (Kbps) 2042
    US Margin 5
    DS Margin 31
    Trained Modulation ADSL_2plus
    LOS Errors 0
    DS Line Attenuation 0
    US Line Attenuation 8
Peak Cell Rate 1016 cells per sec
    CRC Rx Fast 0
    CRC Tx Fast 0
    CRC Rx Interleaved 0
    CRC Tx Interleaved 0
    Path Mode Interleaved

Your upstream SNR is very low. Get your line checked.

I am not sure about your description about splitter. Will wait till you post a snap shot. Try connecting the line directly to the splitter and check.

You can post urls as hxxp://domain.com instead of http://domain.com

If you can just click on the connection status tab, then post that screen shot that should help us a heap.

If nothing is working, reset your modem, disconnect all cables and then connect each cable properly and then see.

try changing your mode from ADSL2 to G.DMT.
