Default Bsnl Broadband With Netgear DGN2000

    Hi friends,

My desktop pc which runs on win 7 is connected to a bsnl broadband connection using Nokia Siemens C2110 ADSL Modem. I'm thinking of replacing my current modem with Netgear DGN2000 so that I can wirelessly connect my xbox elite & notebook for using net but I've never setup routers & know nothing about the different types available or how to use them so I'll be very grateful to you if you can explain me the process. I know that the instruction cd of router will have all these info. but I want to know this before buying my router.

    Regards,
    Shekhar.

One small thing, netgear dgn2000 can also serve as a modem so do I still need to retain my current nokia siemens modem provided by bsnl?

If it is modem + router, you can omit C 2110 from the connection.

In your modem enable DHCP. give a range say 192.168.1.2to say 192.168.1.10
Also enable UPnP option if seen in router's menu pages.
Hope you get WIFI connectivity now.
Also for windows 7 the WLAN card may work as router for your other devices.
Checking up the link. "connectify" i think.
