Thread: Multiuse Configuration of BSNL Teracom Type 2 Modem (with 4 lan ports)

I have taken recently BSNL connection have been give TERACOM Tyep2( T-2B-Gawv1.4U10Y-BI) with 4 lan Ports . But they have done configuration for only one port because i was not able to connect internet on more than one PC . When two lan ports are connected to different Pc or even i am not able to connect 1 PC & 1 Laptop (wireless) so its now even configured for one LAN & one WLAN .
I tried hard but was not able to configure the setting in modem settings at 192.168.1.1
Please if anyone knows the setting let me know the same ....thanx in advance

Non of it seems to be working for me .... i have gone through the complete article in that link also downloaded the zip for settings but the interface(modem interface) shown there is altogether different from mine & has lots of changes in options so i m not able to do the configuration .... PLz help

Assuming you know how to change settings, go to LAn page and enable DHCP and give a range.
( if somewhere you find UpNP box enable it also
(optional)
Reboot wait for 2 minutes.

Now in each computer/ desktop/laptop
Start Network Properties
network Settings page
Highlight TCP/IP
properties
Select Obtain Ip address automatically
SAVE APPLY.

If still problem
Copy/paste ( without edit )
start run type cmd ok
typeipconfig /all

I have configured DHCP server for the range of 192.168.1.2 to 192.168.1.40
and my computers have ip in same range ...then also i m able to connect a single PC at a time to internet. both the PC are LAN connected to Router i have also tried to ping the router from both PC's its working fine no data loss.

Then to i m able to connect to net single PC at a time..have attached to some screen shots to get idea of modem interface...

Your problem solution is very simple

Use PPPOE on your modem instead of Bridge mode. Setup your Router in PPPOE mode and use user ID and password in there. In PPPOE mode you dont need to log in from your Computer Desktop. After that you can browse more then one computer.

Hi all,
I want to access my wabpages from outside internet. For that i have installed web server sw.
But while accessing it showing me the router configuration page. I have dynamic ip. My router is bsnl type II modem(T2-B-Gawv1.4U10Y-BI.I tried to foreward the port but not successful. Can anybody tell me the detail procedure to overcome the problem. And another problem is that previously while i was typing 192.168.1.1 the router page was opening. But now it is not opening.

What is the IP you entered in Port triggering?
The Dynamic Ip has to be changed using Dydns.

I have already installed DynDSN sw for mapping ip address. While i m typing my ip or website name it showing me the router page. I have tried with c2112
modem. it was successful. but now i have teracom wifi router. So please tell me how to forewaed port sothat i can access my webpages.

the Ip allotted say 192.168.1.X is to be entered in port triggering .
Give your server address to check access.

There is still confusion about PPPoE settings.
for some it means Using a "Dialer"in system and entering UserID/PW
( "Selected "Bridged" mode in wan page of any modem )
(B)
Always on PPPoA/PPPoE or PPPoE mode
( if " bridged" is unselcted and above PPPoE box is checked,
you get another page to ENTER/STORE your USERID/PW
You get connected to Internet automatically.

Most screen shots show the second type.
Select which one you need.
Still need select from signature links below. "TERACOM" both modes available.

Check your modem. Does it have WiFi (you can see an antenna) ?

Check the no. of LAN ports available and report here.

Both are desktops ?

You can keep one system as server and get connection on other one. Try this guide. You may need another LAN card ( costs around Rs. 350).

is there any way by which i can increase the speed of my broadband connection.
actually the plan is 1 mbps but it gives 20,30 kbps at times 150-250 kbps downloading in IDM (internet download manager). please suggest.
