Default Packet loss/disconnect issues for the last few days especially between 6am-8am ?

Anyone else getting periodic packet loss (every 20-30 minutes) to both foreign and domestic servers for the last 2-3 days ?

Also; at certain times primarily between 6am to 8am latencies shoot up by 200-300ms to foreign servers.

The problem to foreign servers always seems to be either on Savvis.net servers in london/new york OR horrible routing/latency from AT&T inside USA.

It's incredibly annoying to have to log on to VPN multiple times and lose work; or have a connection to indian stock sites lost REPEATEDLY (the login is very cumbersome and requires password entry via an online keyboard)

Is some kind of BSNL repair work going on ?
(I wish there was a forum for bsnl to get status on such things)

I am based in Durgapur and I had this problem around 4-5 months back, but it was altogether a different situation and was resolved within a day or two. Since then I never faced such a problem. If I remember correctly you answered one of my thread mentioning the same issue. If some drastic BSNL repair thing is going on, I seriously doubt it would go on for such a long time and would probably affect users in Durgapur as well, but its not (atleast not in my case).

Ping test results on US based servers at wee morning hours, especially for stock sites might be poor because its the end of business day time there and server load is quite heavy. However, domestic ping results should be fine. You might wanna check your line quality. I have been downloading several files from a University based in US as well as Germany without any hassles. Please consult other local users in your area and find out if they have the same problem.
