    Question Bsnl 500c+??

    Hi Friends,
I know this site for quite a some time now. Joined it Today.
I live in Secunderabad and changed my BSNL plan of 750 Unlimited+ to BSNL 500C+ . The plan change made me quite excited though. Excitement dint last much. Man The download speed from Rapidshare is the same as mine 750. Why even from Torrent and MediaFire which are supposed to be free of Speed Control wont reach 45 as Max During the Free Download time but rest of the time like after 8 a.m and before 2a.m will be around 170kb/sec . I dont understand why i get so slow speeds even from MediaFire and Torrents ( WHICH HAVE LOTTA SEEDS ). Do all of u really get speeds of 170+ etc etc durin that free Download period or is it just an eye wash ?

    Thanx,
Proud Member of Indian BroadBand Forums.

Mention your modem - model and make

For torrents, try port forwarding. Try this

    Thanx For the reply Brother,

    1. I have Port Forwarded my Comp.
    2. There are no viruses in my Comp as im using genuine Kaspersky Internet security which i keep updated every day.

    MODEM Model Number - WA3002G4
    MODEM BY - UTSTARCOM

My Problem is not bcs of all those. EXCEPT THE UNLIMITED DOWNLOAD TIME BETWEEN 2-8am all other time the speed is as high as 170-220kb/sec even in Rapidshare bro. Only During the Unlimited time the speed comes to 20-50kb/sec every where ( I MEAN Rapidshare or MediaFire or Torrent )... Anyone in secunderabad havin same issue? I tried complaining but no response as the speeds are still the same..!

The problem you are facing was reported earlier also. Many member get lesser speed during NU time than day time. It is due to the congestion of bandwidth. There is nothing we can do. Launch a complaint with BSNL. May be it will have some effect.

This issue is maybe due to the contention ratio which is probably 1:25 for BSNL connection. Earlier it used to be 1:50. It appears that there are many users in your area with the same plan and most of them are downloading during the free time.

Thanx Bro..! we all knoe how fast BSNL are in solving the complaints etc etc.. as u told me.. i registered a complaint regarding the matter but they say they are correct bcs they have mentioned UPTO 2mbps and not 2mbps in their site. Yet the complaint has been registered by me 5 days ago and no change in speed though..

No problem .. thanx for the replies..! They are Lightning fast ( BETTER THAN BSNL ATLEAST ) Thanx once again...!

    Always Welcome

Knowing all these, BSNL has cleverly worded the plan as "up to". Hope your issue will be solved soon. You may write to Nodal officer or Appellate authority. Address and phone no on the backside of your bill.

Yes Bro ..! Doing the same regularly at day times and at night too ..! No use and no speed change same 20-50kb/sec at night and at day time 130-220kb/sec ..! Complaining is done but no response frm their side ...!
May be Home Unlimited 750+ is the best .. chnaging to it ..!

Please test your speed at the web site I had given. and give the link here.
    after checking speed
    try tcp optimizer from speedguide.net.
    select optimal or default values.
    retest speed again.
if no improvement will suggest another speed tweaking application, which seems to improve speed.

    But Bro Accordingly..
10Gb @ 2mbps will take 11.3777778 Hours (Approx). Which means within a day i mean half a day .. that 10Gb will get downloaded and almost rest of the month supposed to have speed of 256kbps which is usual as Unlimited 750+.So may be 750+ is best ..!

    Also u may try UL1350+!its 512Kbps plan.

And may be BSNL doubles the speed of home unlimited plans again
