Default Upload problem with BSNL Type-II Modem

I have changed from BSNL Broadband Type-I(HUAWEI SmartAX MT800) Modem to Type-II(UTSTARCOM WA3002-g1 Wireless ADSL Router) modem with wi-fi. As there was upload problem with Type-II modem, I checked the download and upload speed with a Speedometer availble online. The download speed was between 160 and 210 Kbps and the upload speed was 0 (zero!) Kbps with Type II Modem. But withmy Type-I modem, the download speed was almost same and the upload speed was between 46 Kbps and 64 Kbps. This I found by doing several tests with both the Type-I and Type-II modems. So it is confirmed that the problem is with the Type -II modem and not with my PC. With this 0 Kbps upload speed I am not able to send emails through Hotmail and Gmail and could not transact through internet banking. As usual, my complaint to BSNL, made 5 days back, has not yielded any result except few phone calls enquiring about the fault. Hence I am approaching this forum. Can anyone help me to resolve this problem. I would be glad if i get some direction on setting and configuring the Router.

Angry It seems problem with UTSTARCOM WA3002-g1 modem

I am also facing the same problem with the model UTSTARCOM WA3002-g1. If any one of you been able to resolve the issue please tell. Otherwise we have to change the modem immediately from BSNL.

I was previously using a modem of HUWAI model. It was working fine. Oneday i was not getting ADSL signal in the modem. The BSNL people have replaced me with this UTSTARCOM WA3002-g1 (after 3 weeks) saying that the modem has broken down. After getting this new modem also (after 3 weeks), the ADSL LED was not glowing. Then they resetted the server and now its working fine but only downloads and often getting error messages in yahoomail. Today only i noticed that the upload speed is 0.

I am giving the details below for the use of many members who have expressed similar problem through private message to me:

Open IE browser and type the address: 192.168.1.2

Open the page by giving username and password as: admin

    Click InterfaceSetup

At the bottom of the page change the value 1500 as 1492
for : TCP MTU Option: TCP MTU(0:default) ..... bytes.

    Press SAVE

Then, click Advanced Setup -> ADSL

Set the ADSL Mode : Auto-Sync Up

    Press SAVE

    Then, click Maintenance -> SysRestart

Set System Restart with: Current settings

    Press RESTART

    Close the web browser.

With the above configuration, I am not having upload problem.

Those of you having problem with the above Modem can try this configuration.

Default specification of the type ll modem by bsnl

Thanks for your queries guys , but my question is little irrelevant from the above so sorry for that.
Does the (UTSTARCOM WA3002-g1 Wireless ADSL Router) modem offered by BSNL Dataone has a USB port.

UTSTARCOM WA3002-g1 Wireless ADSL Router is not having USB port. But a similar model: UT-300R2U UG is having a usb port.
The disadvantage of WA3002-g1 i have seen is that the upload will not happen with this model by default setting. We need to change the settings as per reply from "rkalantri". Thanks to rkalantri, once again. After the settings change the modem is working very fine.

SpeedGuide.net :: Your Guide to Broadband Check speed here.
    Download TCP/IP optimiser and optimise.
Changing some values MTU etc can increase decrease upload

    Default E.mail upload problem

    Thanks to R.Kalantri.

I experienced difficulty in sending e.mails with attachments (especially the file sizes 100 kbs and above). There has been no guidance from BSNL Broadband.
Then I saw your thread and reset TCP/MTU to 1492. Now I could send mails with ease.

Just a side note: The MTU size of 1492 is correct for most routers. However, in some routers you must set it as 1500. Please refer your router guide.

@Sumit020 how do you think the TCPOptimizer will change the router's MTU. TCPOptimizer works in operating system not in a router.
maybe you dont understand what anuban1976 want to say or you are a noob.
