Default A frustrating problem - Incomplete Download (dataone)

    Hello friends!
    .
I use dataone broadband from BSNL.. 5 GB Night Unlimited
I am facing a very frustrating problem in that most of my downloads are never complete. Whatever some portion that gets download is downloaded at a very good speed but then it just stops somewhere in between.
    .
The same thing happens with videos that i try to play. It may be a youtube video or a facebook video. No success.
I use the same connection on two laptops and one desktop. I face the problem on desktop(vista) and a laptop(Win 7)..and no such probelm on the other laptop (win 7)!
    .
I can't always use the third laptop. I can't figure out what the problem is! PLease help me this is very frustrating..
    .
PLease tell me if you want me to provide some more information.
    Thank You.

    1. Use a download manager like IDM, DAP etc.
    2. Change your DNS to Open DNS(208.67.222.222, 208.67.220.220) or Google DNS(8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4).
    3. Try Opera turbo.

Please post your line attenuation and SNR values.

    Thanks for the reply.

    1. I have used different download managers but the problem persists.
    2. This I will try and report back.
    3. I have used opera too! and no success again ( although I have observed that the problem is a little less in IE.. many times the downloads have completed over there... but i want to use mozilla)

    Post your modem model.
Usually, type 192.168.1.1 in your browser, username-admin, password-admin.
if present click advanced view or its equivalent. Find the above-mentioned values there.

    2. Do you happen to have a motherboard with the Nvidia "activearmor" firewall installed?

This is a chipset feature but the drivers for the firewall can and should be skipped.

Corrupt downloads and https bluescreens are a known issue.

    1. Disable your firewall and try.

    2. Mention your modem - model and make.

    3. Which download manager do you use ? Try Internet Download Manager (IDM)

    4. Post your SNR and attenuation values as mentioned above.

    Try this

If trial Period is over for say IDM this problem can happen.
compare set up in both laptops.
    Browser/ Download manager/Firewall
    Antivirus etc.
    1.Mention modem/model/make/number. ( for records only )
    2.In Firefox Tools/options/Advanced
Increase the offline storage to say 1GB.
    feedback.
