Thread: Wifi problem

Well this problem is kind of strange. I do internet in home via wifi in my laptop. However the wifi is unsecured. However the college i go to has a secured wifi connection. They did all the settings for me. After this it was connecting to internet. However when i went home i was not able to connect to my home wifi connection which is unsecured. I troubleshoot the problem. it was some kind of dhcp error, dont know exactly. it was working now. However when i go to college again i am unable to access internet. I tried to create 2 users on windows 7 one for home and another for college but it was all in vain. Please can some one help.

Mention modem/WIFI router you use at Home.

copy/paste here ipconfig /all
Presume College WIFI signal unreachable. at home.
Have you a SINGLE WLAN connection with SSID say "abcd" ?
Create two : one for college secured
and another for your home BB connection.
Also when you click the Network Icon in Taskbar
Context menu "Show available Wireless Networks", both should appear.
Also "Windows Zero Wireless configuration"
to be selected/used to show all wifi networks.
( all above based on Windows XP pro sp3)
Windows 7 :
you may get better error messages.
