Default software for notifying internet connection..

guyz.. i have been suffering from terrible internet problem ..
my adsl line is acting strange .. the adsl line goes off on its own and comes back after some time ( in some interval of 30 min ) ...
i tried everything to solve this problem and nothing seems to me working ..
the connection is set to pppoe .. so whenever adsl line comes up .. my internet is ready ...
is there any software which monitors my internet connection and plays some sound like saying my internet is alive ... so that i can do other works instead of keeping my eyes over internet connection ...

    thankx

    plz reply...

    1. Mention your modem - model and make.

    2. Post your SNR and attenuation values.

A setting change in modem WAN page can help.
Better to give info asked for, even if you feel, it is not needed.
    I
    Update:
A visual meter as suggested by @meetdilip will show you

In the network adapter (ethernet card) settings there is one option checkbox, notify when there is limited or no connectivity. Just tick that box. It will notify you when there is limited or no connectivity

Control panel > Network connections > Select your connection > Right click > Properties

Check whether there is a transfer of data > Sent / Receive

Hope this will be of some use

    Codebox Software - BitMeter II

Please note that the value provided by Bitmeter is not accurate. However it is good monitoring purpose. You may need to install .net to get it working.
