    Default WINDOWS 7 regular disconnections.....

    hey guys....

i had installed Win 7 on my P.C....all seemed to be fine.....but i was experiencing a lot of disconnections during the NIGHT FREE USAGE period
(i connect at 2.03 am and by using an automatic shutdown utility my p.c turns off at 7.57 am)......

this is the time when i usually do all my heavy downloads through utorrent...but after a few days i noticed that the amount downloaded had reduced significantly......a regular check revealed that my connection would disconnect about 6 to 7 times during the night......i tried reducing the upload speed(upto 22kbps)....but to no avail......

so i had to switch back to windows XP.....and voila.....no disconnections whatsoever......

but i am still very keen to return to WIN 7.....although not at the cost of my downloads......could someone shed some light as to why the connection terminates so many times in Win 7....and not with XP.....

As you are on "Dialer" mode to schedule
automatic downloads., suggest compare the Dialer settings for WINDOWS 7 and windows XP.
Or............ edited as given as Full "quote" above

and yes my net reconnects many a times using the REDIAL IF THE LINE IS DROPPED OPTION....but still.....that many disruptions take a toll on utorrent speed......which ultimately results in me ending up with lesser amounts of downloads.....

You may try the Broadband Scheduler v.3.0
Try when you use XP and windows 7.
    Test in day time.

    2. Unable to give hints for Windows 7for you. forum rules!!!
Better NU downloads with XP Pro sp2 or sp3 .
Speed etc should not make a big difference.

    3. Test your speed here 3MB each test.

check in Belkins website for drivers update. or use compatibility mode for XP.
Always give full details of the modem/router
Belkins Wireless: how many models are there ?
Post ipconfig /all data ONLY for the Wireless network.
    Rest not needed.

Are you trying to connect using USB port ? Try connecting through ethernet port. In this set up, you do not need drivers. I age old BSNL modem works with Windows 7 without any problem. Just connect the modem and system using a RJ45 cable. Windows 7 will automatically detect the connection.
