    Default BSNL NU Schedulers

    BSNL FREE NU Schedulers

    INTRODUCTION
ISP Bsnl has tariff plans for free unlimited download
during odd night hours viz 0200AM to 0800AM . Many users
    have used different automatic schedulers
to avail this facility, with automatic downloads.
Though recently there is some improvement
in the metering ( reports say BSNL usage meter stops and
restarts again at 0200AM and 0800AM). But many users have
been billed even the usage during this NU period.

    Requirements
    a. The system in stand by mode.
    b. The modem also disconnected around 0155 AM
    c. System restarts at say 0200 AM
    d. Modem restarts at say 0205 AM
    e. A scheduler for above which also starts the
Download Manager at about 0205AM for torrent downloads etc
f Disconnect Modem at 0755 AM.
    g. Sleep soundly!!

    Applications
Many applications have been tried, and tested,
starting with simple batch files/ telnet / auto
starters etc and some problem or other was felt
when trying to use different modems/routers and
recently two or three applications seem to have
simplified the process with mimimum entries by the user.

    1. Very popular
http://www.indiabroadband.net/bsnl-b...tml#post249936 (Easiest way to automate night 2-8 downloads....... without any software....)

2.This seems to be the simplest application so far. Test in daytime.

    3.
    Auto-connect Download scheduler PC-Gyaan
This application requires entering additional modem file/s

    4. Some more !
    please wait editing......

As for new version, I'm working on bugs, including the one reported by u (DPI problem), but the thing is I'm wee preoccupied wid exams and other projects and all, hope I finish the new version soon.

    Lightbulb BSNL NU downloaders review.

Hi Essbebe ... I had a look at features of various NU downloaders and found these results-

    i. Broadband scheduler interface is simple. But the logic for always ON users isn't correct. The program simply disables and enables the LAN adapter, this isn't equivalent to modem reboot. Also, there is no provision to close running application and run task daily. Also, requires installing .Net framework.
Biggest drawback, you have to open and edit an INI file to give details of username and password for dial up connections.

ii. Night Downloader have feature to run and close two applications. But it's modem reboot isnt versatile, wont work in all cases and may support just one built of modem. It has a very complex interface as well. And no provision to run daily. Stored times of schedules arent saved either, have to be entered everytime, thus a laborious task.

iii. Download link for Ricksoft isnt working, thus couldnt use it.

iv. Auto - Connect (which I have made) is simple, supports bridge n PPPoE, reboots most of the modems, feature to store task timings and also option to run tasks daily. Modem can be rebooted thrice, as per entered timings, keeping in view some reports of requirement to reboot modem just before and just after end of NU time. Supports Windows 7 as well.

It has a few flaws like maynot support all types of modems, none of them can. Just one application can be scheduled to run, I can add one more, but nobody ever asked for another. Though its a simple single window interface, few users find it difficult to use. In windows 7, if you use run daily option, you may have to disable UAC. And Windows 7 users opting to use Always ON must manually enable telnet (thats the reason why my modem reboot works on windows 7 as well, where as most of others fail)

    Please use and suggest improvements.

Thanks Essbebe for including my software as well.

    Thanks for your comments.
Have you investigated the IDLE time option
in Modem WAN page, when user is using
    "AlwaysOn" PPP/PPPoE mode /
some recent reports seem to suggest , that BSNL usage meter
( for users with 117.xx.xx.xx ) restarts at 0200A.M and 0800A.M for all users.( even if modem is kept on H24 )
Even then users are advised to switch off modem at about 0155 A.M as usual !!!!!!

Both. If you disconnect, the connection is disconnected. Also when you switch off/ON modem it is disconnected.

If your modem is in dialer / bridge mode, then the start time will be accounted as 2.10 am.

Default I need to reboot Modem Automatically... How can I?

    I have "AR800V" Modem.

I have NU 600 Plan - I need to restart the Modem at that perticular time.

I have read some of the thread and it seems that there are some scripts for that - .BAT or .VBS file

Can someone tell me the script for my modem and the procedure for that in little more details.

I got really confused in some threads...

    Thanks.

    Just start/use t the system/modem say between 0730AM t& 0900AM
    ( and if possible between 0130AM & 0230 AM )
    2902
Check how the usage is shown in your portal.
Split correctly at 0200AM and 0800 AM ?
Day usage and NU shown separately ?

    for the time blocks selected.
( example ne desktop and three laptops in wifi mode not allowed )
    Feed back item wise.

Default Pcgyan - software is not working smoothly for me...

@essbebe n meetdilip - Thanks for the fast reply

Here is what I have done...

PCGyan software is creating problem with... Auto power on and shutdown.

Tried for the Imran's utility - Dead link.

thats why I thought that the batch file for connecting and reconnecting in PPPoe mode can be the best option for me. - because I am running 3 laptops on my connection. - plus one is my uncle's who is not to familiar with computer thing... so he should be connected directly without any hassle. considering - pppoe can be best for me.

So, I read some of the threads before which had such scripts [related to Telnet]... but I guess its not working for my modem... So, can it be possible for my modem with little modification?

also, I am familiar with bridge connection but I guess I forgot about how to create dialer in windows [after config. the modem] - can u please suggest the thread where it is having visual steps for that...

Ultimately I will really like pppoe connection and the reconnect script for the whole work to be done... otherwise... dialler is the option which I had been using and was working great... but now its 3 laptos... so....

I hope I will have some solution...

    Thanks.

Try one of the schedulers mentioned here

    http://www.indiabroadband.net/bsnl-b...chedulers.html (BSNL NU Schedulers)

    Please mention your OS.

    To create dialer :

In Windows 7, go to Network and Sharing center and select " Set up a new connection or network ".

For Windows XP, Control panel > Network places > Create a new connection.
