Thread: Help needed in noia 1600

Each time i switch the modem off and again i turn on the modem it doesn't connects via wifi in my laptop
I am on 256kbps unlimited and the router is nokia 1600 residential
So,here the brief:
Each time i switch off my modem,turn it on my windows 7 laptop doesn't connects
I am able to connect via ethernet in laptop
MY Mode Is PPPOE
I think the modem has problem in it

Problematic modem could be an issue.

But before we nail it down that way, you said that laptop does not connect via wi-fi after modem is switched off and on. So, what do you do to reconnect to laptop via wi-fi again? Or are you saying wi-fi does not work at all?

No sir,I reset the modem ssid in laptop,Remove the previous wifi network,say:
Earlier it was nokia.now i rename it nokia siemens, delete the nokia network, recreate another network,if i don't restart the router,after renaming ssid,still my laptop doesn't connects!

Someone please help me as i got the router on this past Tuesday
I have not received the receipt yet,I was supposed to get it on Thursday but i was busy in my home.Tomorrow only i will go and get it
If this is any router fault please bring me into knowledge,
I'll not leave the guy who ditched me~!!

I'll go and ask him tomorrow only

If possible, get a router from your friend and try it at your place. By this way you can confirm whether it is a router fault or not.

If Ethernet connection is working normal, in wifi
try without any security key.
In your laptop when you get a X across the WIFI icon can you see "Available Wireless networks"?
Do you get a message

Windows cannot display the networks as you are using another WIFI utility

What is the Channel selected ch 6 or 11
country selection India.

Sir i switched it off,two~3 times,now i turned it on'
It's wifi is working good

But sometimes when it's not used for more then 1 day i switch it on it stops the connection,I'll update you when the problem arises,

I am very thankful to you sir,Please help me one more way,
Suppose my internet stops working,except watching in my laptop light and router,is there any other way we can check in PPPOE that error is 678 or something else! because my router is on top floor,as i take my laptop for internet use,lifting stairs again and again for checking light will be a problem for me

make WIFI entries in modem again and again.
Presume you have used security key WPA
. NOW
Go to Management or tools. Select Save current settings to Say C:/My documents/
IBF nokia wifi OK.

Nature of wireless propagation, due to signal pickup in the 2.4 GHz range from cordless phones/ cellphones ( may be same freq band ) or harmonic radiation from microwave ovens etc.
or some movement in the path of the signals
(LINE OF Sight" propagation )

I need the ipconfig /all data for further
suggestions/tweaks in the wlan adapter.

Do you use Windows Wireless Zero configuration "or the WLAN Network adapter's ( example Netgear wgr 511 etc )

can you see SSID secured /unsecured of any other in your Flat complex ?

If modem is off your SSID will show "disconnected" ( I use additional wifi router ! My modem is off ! MY ssid KK not seen.)

6. Better change Modem mode to "Always On"
PPPoE mode .
Not " bridged" mode using a Dialer
Change in WAN page and enter userId PW
Save reboot as usual in Management/tools menu.
Idle time set as 0.
Then modem will restart without your intervention. position Modem near the window
and if possible Antenna parallel to the ground

I don't find that save option of tools management where to save,

picture .I have to change modem ZX831AII to (Beetel 110BX ( similar to yours less wifi)for the correct menu/item.

When you click the 'WIFI" Icon appearing in Taskbar, when connected, you get a context menu "disable/""Status " "Repair". View available wireless networks"
The last option will give the screen I posted.
Do you get it ? showing your SSID ?

better change to "Always On "PPPoE mode

(a)If you have to enter your UserID and PW external to the modem in a Dialer window in the computer
I call it "dialer" mode . ( some use "PPPoE", causes confusion )
(b) PPP PPPoE "Always On" means you have to enter your userID and PW in the wan page of the
modem.Less chances of disconnection.

11. If you can, disable Box entry IPV6 in Network

@essbebe today again that problem was repeated even after changing to pppoe still the problem of re changing the name ssid continues

Post screen shot of wifi settings.

How? i don't know hoe to do that

If you can, when making a post here , Click "Go Advanced"
Scroll down the page
Manage attachments.
Upload from source say C:/My Pictures /wifi1.jpg

Sorry essbebe but it only saves the pages as.html format so kindly please tell me what to do next as i have only one mean of connecting internet via wifi

Try Print screen
and check in Paint. save as Jpg picture.

Use Screengrab add on in firefox.

Type 192.168.1.1 in firefox. When the page opens, right click in the window and you will find an option to save the file. All my modem screen shots are using this method.
