    Default BSNL Plan Comparison

    Here I'M going to COMPARE TWO BSNL PLANS namely :

    1. BSNL HOME UNLIMITED 750

    2. BSNL HOME 500 or 500C+

    Let us discuss ( COMPARE ) two plans of BSNL.. BSNL HOME UNLIMITED 750 and BSNL HOME 500

    BSNL HOME UNLIMITED 750 :

    Advantages of having this plan are as follows :
    1. Download without any limits throughout the day.
    2. The Internet bill remain as constant as the NORTHERN STAR ( )... how much ever you download the bill is Rs.750
    3. No need to check the Usage Portal REGULARLY for usage Constantly in fear of exceeding the download limit

    Disadvantages of this plan are :
    1. The download speed is a mere 256kbps....
    NOTE : "256kbps" is 256 Kilo BIT per second and NOT... 256 kilo BYTE per second...
    8bits = 1byte

    256kilobits=32Kilobytes...

    1GB = 1024MB
    So to download say 1GB it wold take approximately 8hr'50min which is almost 9hr... Taking The download as 32KiloByte...
    2. While downloading TORRENTS or from other websites The Browsing becomes very slow as compared...
    Here The download speed goes to 45 kb/sec.. but for some people ( LUCKY ONES ) it wuld go as high as 75 Kb/sec

    BSNL HOME 500 or 500C+ :
    In this Plan there is Free Usage time of 6hr... i mean UNLIMITED usage time of 6hr from 2a.m to 8a.m
    Note :
    1. In BSNL 500 Plan the Day Download limit Throughout the month is 1.5Gb
    2. In BSNL 500C+ ( NOW Combo 600 ) The Day Download limit throughout the month is 2.5Gb
    3. The speed is UPTO 2mbps and not 2mbps exactly so even if u get lower speeds you are not in a position to blame BSNL for low speeds.

    ADVANTAGES of having these Plan :
    1. The download speed or web page Browsing speed is as high as 2mbps.
    2. The speed of downloads given by them during the UNLIMITED USAGE OF TIME frm 2a.m to 8a.m is also 2mbps.
    NOTE : Download speed : 2mbps = 256 KiloByte/sec
    2.5GB = 2560MB
    So to download 1GB it would take around 1hr'6min approximately 1hr'10min at highest speed of 256KiloByte/sec
    At 210 Kilobyte/sec = 1hr'20min

    At180Kilobyte/sec = 1hr'30min

    DISADVATAGES of having these Plan :

    1. The Unlimited Usage time is Only from EARLY morning 2a.m to 8a.m so very difficult to schedule download especially from RapidShare,MegaUpload,MediaFire etc etc.....
    2. A mere 2.5GB is available for download throughout the month after the Unlimited usage hours... so we have to make up our mind not to surf too much.. and especially not play or watch movies online during the day...

    Now u have clearly seen the Various advantages and disadvantages....Lets US COMPARE...
    Although BSNL HOME UNLIMITED 750 appears as a very good plan ... THE SPEED is too too less for ex. for downloadin a 3GBfile it would approximately 27 Hours.. which is A DAY AND 4Hours.. where as in the HOME 500 Plans when we schedule the download it would take apporximately take 4Hours or 5Hours AT ITS maximum...The BSNL HOME UNLIMITED USERS have to sacrifice their browsing during the download process as the download process takes away all the speed... where as in case of BSNL HOME 500 No problems...
    Although BSNL HOME 500 offers 2mbps speed we have to wait to download huge files more than 2.5Gb as there is restriction in our download during the morning...but in the case of BSNL HOME UNLIMITED 750 it is not so...we can start download whenever we want...
    IF you are really interested to download HUGE AMOUNT OF DATA IN VERY SHORT TIME then i advice you to go for BSNL HOME 500 .IF you are really interested to be slow and enjoy UNLIMITED BROWSING time during Morning i advice you to go for HOME BSNL UNLIMITED 750
    NOTE : HOME UNLIMITED 750 or HOME UNLIMITED 750+ give the same DOWNLOAD speed
    Let us start the most interesting topic of scheduling....
    Torrent scheduling is very easy Follow these Steps :
    I assume u have utorrent
    Open utorrent
    1. Go to Options -> Preferences (or press CTRL+P)2. Go to Scheduler.3. Check Enable Scheduler.4. The Third box starts at Early Morning (2AM). Each box represents 1 hour. You can move your mouse on top of the box to see what time it is. By default, everything is set at Full speed download. Clicking on the box twice will change the box to white color and it means to stop downloading. You can set it to start full download speed on Monday to Sunday starting at 2AM to 8AM.I know, there’s a lot of clicking to be done but you only need to do it once.
    Rapidshare download Scheduling is a difficult process I suggest you to use this following Software called J Downloader. Link :

    JDownloader

    IM sorry to say that Its very difficult to SCHEDULE RAPIDSHARE OR MEDIAFIRE downloads.. so.. make sure to get up at 2a.m to Start the download or u can use DAP to satisfy your needs :
    LINK for DAP :

    DAP

    Hmm... so with the help of few softwares.. our aim for downloading during the UNLIMITED usage hour of 2a.m to 8a.m is satisfied
    Now This Software to Keep a check on your usage REGULARLY...
    LINK for ShaPlus BANDWIDTH METER :

    LINK FOR IP 5x.xx.xx.xx :

    ShaPlus

    Link For IP 117.xx.xx.xx :

    ShaPlus

    Enjoy..

    Now a QUESTION ARISES which is THE BEST PLAN ACCORDING TO WRITER ( i.e ME ) :
    I Actually used to have HOME UNLIMITED 750 used to download DATA like Movies,games,music etc etc around 13Gb every month.I used to not care of Speed and used to keep the computer on for 1 day or 2 day etc etc.... Until my friend got BSNL HOME 500He could download almost 3 to 4GB in the UNLIMITED period of 2a.m to 8a.m although it took for me around 2days... so i decided to change my PLAN to BSNL HOME 500C+... i thought FOR ME ITS THE BEST.... But Here came the PROBLEM.. I couldn't BROWSE the net FREELY as i used to do,,.... I changed my Plan Back to THE HOME UNLIMITED 750+... people if your in the HOME UNLIMITED 750+ Please try not to change to 500.. its very difficult for you to cope up...if you are users of HOME 500 from the beginning continue with the same...!! Enjoy..
    ANY MORE QUESTIONS?? Free feel to ask them....

    P.S : DONT FLAME AT ME FOR SAYING THAT USERS CANT COPE WITH 500 Combo Plan When they change to it... Its my Suggestion thats it!!

    HOPE YOU FOUND THIS USEFUL.. PLZ SAY THANX IF U LIKE MY POST... THIS IS MY OWN COMPILATION AS I HAVE USED BOTH THE PLANS !!

    Download speed is mere 32KB/S and on the other side you are saying that taking 32KB/S 1GB will be downloaded in 9hours?
    The point is not clear........
    2.
    While downloading TORRENTS or from other websites The Browsing becomes very slow as compared...

    How this is a advantage of home 500 plans?

    it's more not mere!
    Playing or watching online movies or games would extinguish the limited 2.5GB within 1 or even less time depending on the size of them
    Surfing the net on average basis of 1~2 hours will not extinguish the bandwidth such as one day you consume 40~50MB/hour then still you only consume 1500 MB or even less sorry,i am not a good calculator.I apologize

    Please clear us the points i have quoted as you told feel free to ask!

    1. The Point is a comparison between The Download speed of 500 Combo Plan and 750 Plan. I have Mentioned *MERE* bcs its too *LOW* when compared to 500 Plan. According to Calculations 1Gb @ 32kb/sec will take APPROX 9hours which is a more Download time for 1Gb when compared to 500

    2. The Proof is my Own DOwnload speed. When Im Downloading from a torrent which has good number of seeds The downlaod speed is as high as 37 to 45kb/sec . When This type of Download is going on i wont be even able to sign into my chat account in Gtalk. The Webpages like Google ( WHICH DOESNT HAVE FLASH ETC ETC ) takes aprrox 2 min to open and still load for upto 5 min .

    3. Thanks for Pointing out my mistake ( Im also a Human ) it should come under Disadvantage ...

    4. I still Keep my Words as saying *Mere* ... bcs this post is about comparison of the two plans...so when compared to 750 its too less... 2.5Gb can be consumed at a rate of 85.3333333 mb/day . The Plan is under HOME CATEGORY. in the house Children ( I have my Small Bro ). they play Online Games ( FLASH BASED avail in orkut etc etc ). These Games are around 3 Mb each.. Even if they play 5 Daily and the way we surf we are sure to cross the 89Mb Limit per day easily ... I did it 3-4 Times and Got extra bill . Now a Days Most of the website use Flash based Content , Extensive Images ( HD ones ) and many more ADS etc etc which can surely increase our Download limit per day ... Many can Keep it within limit though i cant .. so this statements given by me cant be generalized..

    THANX FOR COMMENTING ON MY POST. I hope my answers are Satisfactory to u and also the Others..

    Ok i understood what do u want to convey

    But dear member u are really confused you don't even know the difference between kb/s and KB/S above you mentioned that you get speeds in kb/s but here you are in KB/S??No reason or excuse!!

    And ya on which plan you are on
    My experience says that you are on 64KB/S i.e.512kb/not KB/S
    and ya if you are on this plan then let me admit that if you browse and download at the same time then the speed automatically reduces~Thing not to mention~

    1B = 8b

    64 KBps = 512 Kbps

    Hope it is clear now.

    sometimes it goes up 40 to 42kBps speed, but it doesnt mean tat he will get same constant speed.... the speed keeps on varying... ultimately u will get avg speed of 25kBps to28kBps in torrents n needs 7 and 1/2 to 8 hrs to download a 700mb movie....

    Those Plans are a EYE-WASH according to me. 10gb @ 2mbps will take just 5 hours to download ( Aprrox ) after that speeds are just same as Unlimited 750+. So almost rest of the month we are likely to be in 750 plan although we are paying more.

    If you are not a heavy downloader, ULF plans are really handy. For me it took 10 days to consume 10 GB. Including a 3.5 GB Windows AIO download. If you are a heavy downloader, nothing but 500 plans suit you.

    Just decide what you want.
    If downloading is your main agenda go for Home 500 plan.
    If browsing is your main agenda go for UL 750 plan.

    I am using 500c plan and I found it best for me, it was not difficult to schedule torrent or warez site like Rapidshare, hotfile or megaupload. I always start download at 2:02:00AM and stop at 7:59AM and u know I never wake up at 2am because I have made all things automatic. My computer automatic power on at 2:00AM and connect to internet at 2:02am and download start automatically, I use torrent and Jdownloader for warez site because it has schedule download system, and automatically shutdowns at 7:59am. It give me a download speed of 200KB/s, and in 6hrs I download 3.5GB of data every night without waking up. I dont leave my modem power on, it is also automatic I have attached a 'relay' with my modem and when my computer gets power on then a 'relay' get a power and my modems on, and it becomes off when my computer get off.
    This fully automatic system help me save energy.

    Surfing web sites/ watching videos also consume data usage.
    Check your usage h24 for a day or two with shaplus or NetWorx meter.
    Home 750 plan ( old name ) may be suitable for you
    speed 512 Kbps now.
