Here is the Status
Modulation Type is RE-ADSL
Post some screen shots of downloads and uploads.
By the way the max speed ADSL line can support is 24mbps down and 3.5mbps up using ADSL2+ and Annex M.
So anything above that is a fake for sure.
@funky_08
I think you are from Kolkata - SaltLake
If I am correct I know which block you are leaving
and maybe you are using IP 59.93
SaltLake has this speed
How do I know, because I am working in here
If possible select ADSL2+ (ITU G 992.5 ) it will give you mutch higher speed then current you have, altho it is recommended that for Upto 2Mbps plan mode G.DMT is best which is currently set on your router.
No my IP starts with 117
@funky_08
Readsl and shown in status page are different.
ReADSL mode , is for longer distances say about 8 KM attenuation upto 85 db.
Doubt this mode is available in BSNL.
Can you please post the ADSL configuration modem screen shot of your modem/router.
ADSL mode U/L speed is usually ( say 1/4th of D/L )less than U/L speed .
Can you change Mod mode to say ADSL(multimode)
and recheck speed?
Also check in your Usage portal what tariff plan is listed for you.
If you are interested in a greater U/L speed , retain present settings and Back up the settings.
@funky_08
If possible change your Plan to BB500
it will give you higher download speed and higher upload speed
altho you allrady get higher upload speed
Of course, but where will you? If you call 1500, BSNL Callcentre #, you will have to wait for more than half hour just listening to their pleasing music without any response from the callcentre assistant. Then your line will be abruptly disconnected with no purpose served. You have to spend half a day to get any response, that too if you are so lucky.
If you visit BSNL Customer Service Centre, the officials there will exhibit ignorance of their ability to solve your problem. You will get out the Centre blaming yourself why you had visited the place.
If you register complaint online, that will not attract attention of the Grievence Centre, because from my experience I have seen many of my complaints registered three months back still pending.
BSNL has the worst mechanism to attend to customer service.
I wanted to change my broadband password through their website wwwdotdataonedotin] and the link is down for nearly a month now. It says "You don't have permission to access / on this server."
These days BSNL customers are mostly senior citizens. If you visit any BSNL Service Centre you can see 90% of the visitors there senior citizens. BSNL has lost the attraction of youngsters because of its poor service and unattractive plans. The day is not far off for even senior citizens withdrawing from BSNL.
@netzone
Please open a new thread and mention your IPI wanted to change my broadband password
http://www.ipchecking.com/
as 59.xx.xx.xx or 117.xx.xx.xx
and location.
Those are just speed tests (the above ones)
I get the same on SpeedTest.net
In actual, I get 60 KB/s, i.e., approximately 500 Kbps!
It's just a speed burst, because when I start a download I can go upto 120 KB/s (Yes, that's 1 Mbps) and then it comes down to 60 KB/s! :P
