Thread: Which modem is best for BSNL Broad band

I got a new bsnl connection yesterday.
But there is no stock available for modem. So they asked me to buy a modem outside.
Which modem should i buy?
My requirement is to connect my laptop via Wi Fi..

can you please suggest me a good modem?

Both are 3-in-1 devices via., adsl modem, 4-port switch, wireless access point so you can connect your pc aswellas laptop and share the internet connection, files between them

Try a different telephone Exchange.
If available can buy it for Rs 1600/=+ taxes, showing your BSNL Telephone bill.

Iball price according to their web site is Rs.3,990/-

But according to essbebe getting a modem from other exchange seems to be the best deal.

D-Link 2640U is an UK model and not available in India.
D-Link 2640T is available and I use the same and truely speaking this is not the best ADSL router for any broadband connection.
I can never keep torrents running for more than 3 days and not even more than 24 hours through wireless.

So I suggest Linksys Routers are the ideal routers for any Broadband connection.

I'm new to the forum & would highly appericiate ur help guys.

I just got my BSNL Broadband connection done & the modem / router is:

Nokia Siemens Networks Residential Router 1600

The problem I'm faced with is dat, the moment I turn on my cordless phone my net connection is severed even if the telephone line is not connected to my cordless phone.

any solution to the above problem???

this might be due to interference between Cordless & Wireless. Both operate at 2.4GHz bands, hence the problem!! put the cordless far or switch to Wireless-N modem/router @5GHz
