Thread: Problem with UT300R2U

Iam using UT300R2U for the past six months but recently i am facing a problem of modem becoming blank (i.e) all lights turning into red. So I went to BSNL exchange and they gave a new modem of same model. But again Im getting the same problem of all lights turning to red. I have changed ethernet cable but the problem persists. So what can i do????

Since modem and Power adapter are new
and presume tested in BSNL Exchange.
Check the ADSL Splitter.
1.
The filter circuit/s for telephone may be shorted and there is loss of data signal.
Remove the Adsl splitter and Phones and tryto connect rj11 from Phonne junction direct to modem Rj11 port.

If you can access the modemCheck Diagnostics page, as well as Statistics /ADSL page.
3.
Presume your Desktop, no changes were made for Network.

Iam not using any splitter. More over BSNL Exchange gave only new modem and iam using same old adapter. Modem works exactly for 1 1/2 hrs to 2 hrs after that modem goes blank. If i switch off the modem for about an hour and then I restart it and then only iam facing same problem as mentioned above. Waiting for reply.

Whether you use a phone or not
An ADSL splitter is MUST.
Get it from exchange or from computer dealers.

I dont use a phone. I have directly connected my modem from connection box.

The telephone lin has to be properly terminated with a phone due to presence of DC 40 to 60V for ringer, and ( impedence matching[ ignore if too technical].
Also with ADSL: splitter added , your modem is Connected directly to the BSNL Phone junction.

Senior Divisional Engineer B.S.N.L long back.

So reason for my modem blank out is electrical impedance because of not using adsl splitter. Not any other reason such as adapter, ethernet or modem etc...Even if it is because of impedance why it is always after 2 hrs....

You need a theoretical discussion/thesis on your ADSL connection problem, or try to get a stable connection ?
You can search for all details about this ADSL Splitter by doing a Google search.

Also post modem log for say 10 minutes while working and when disconnected.

You have posted the DIAL UP 56K Fax modem commands. Are you using
Sancharnet or Netone 56K dialup
internet ?Not needed please.

ADSL data seems ok. Changing to GDMT may help.
other data No use.Why I need an IP scan application? You can delete it.

System log : scroll and select option to show condition of connection /disconnection check debugging etc.
Also disable tr_069 client if enabled.
