    Angry ADSL link is off

    Hi,
I have the following modem "WA3002-G4", it is up and running for nearly 1.5 years, recently from past 3 months when i turn on the mode, i DSL link is immediately OFF and there is no connectivity. I call up the CC very regurlay and complain about this, the technician fixes the problem but says that it is due to cordless phone. But i argue with him that the cordless phone works in 1.8-1.9Mhz. The technician says that the exchange people say that there are unknown signals are returned back which hang their switch, he said that they need to restart it to make it work again and it works again. I have taken my cordless to the mechanic but he is not able to find any fault in my cordless phone. The internet after rectification works for one week and then the problem is seen again. I am really fed up. I dont have any clue. The techician says the modem and splitter connections are fine. Please help.

Do not try in WIFI mode.( or disable Wireless in router) Test for a day.
Cordless range is NOT 1.8 Mhz to 1.9 Mhz. ( just above Medium wave B/C band )
Very old 48 MHz. recent 900 GHz.
latest 2.4 GHz ( same as broadband WIFI)
Advanced 5.8 GHz ( MY VOIP phone )etc.
Reposition the cordless base far away from the Modem.
see link for Wa3002_g4 given below:

Check Statistics/ ADSL data for snr attn both d/l and U/L.

    Default Hi

I am sorry, my mistake, cordless works in range 1.8 to 1.9 Ghz (inferred from manual). I hardly use the wifi, sometimes i use it for laptop for office work. After the BSNL did the correction it works atleast for 5-7 days after which the problem is seen again. I have also changed the wifi channel number which was set to 13 (or 11 i think) to 3 but the problem still exists.

preferred channel for India Ch 6 or 11.

    Do you find other secured/unsecured wifi networks in your Network page;
When you click the WIFI icon and
select " show available wif Networks "?

    Unhappy Hi

Its not the same modem i use, the modem used at home is provided by BSNL. I dont know the details used at office.
Also there is another update, yesterday a technician did a test with my connection he used the following words. He said "I see a potential from your end. I see some potential current which is returned back from your end, due to this the internet is not working. It could be due to any reason." Infact he did the test by disabling the Wifi in the modem. He also unplugged my telephone line from the splitter and still he could see the potential in the exchange. He said this problem may not be due to modem or cordless. It is something else which needs to be investigated.

Do you get the ringing sound in your Telephone Properly ?
    Disconnect other telephone/s if any
used as extension in other rooms.
In my flat one pair in one room was shorted, and ringing was intermittent.
May be due to internal wiring or proximity to house electrical wiring.
    ( called Induced voltages EMI)

When the problem is solved, please do give feedback here.

    Default Hi

Thanks for the information. The BSNL lineman called me today. He claims it is mainly due to cordless and no other reason. But still he manages to bring up the internet which works for atleast a week after which its the same story. He says that it is strongly due to cordless and the exchange people are not correct.
