    Default BSNL router WA3002G4

    Dear friends,

I have been seeing a lot of TV news channels giving warning on the radiation levels.

I use BSNL Wifi router mentioned above, but I rarely ever use it away from my desk. So basically, I could just connect it using a LAN cable and disable the Wifi-radiation aspect. However, no matter how much I tried I would not find out how to disable the Wi-fi part of the router and use only the LAN. If and when I need to use internet at different location, like different room etc, I should be able to reenable the Wifi.

Can somebody please let me know, how can I disengage the Wifi and engage only the LAN. Also, how to reenable it, as and when required.

    Many thanks,

    M

Log into your modem and post the screen shot of your " Wireless Network " page. There you will find an option to disable the wireless. Using the same method you can enable also.

    Hi guys,

I tried this today, as I dint want to take a chance with my workflow.

I reached to a point of enabling and disabling the wireless. But I am stumped here becoz, when I disable and the connection thro' lan-cord is not activating.

Any ideas where I am wrong. Is there any other parameters to be changed in the router settings.

    Thanks for patience,

    cheers,

You should not try with Lan ethernet connection and wifi mode at same time to a single wifi enabled computer.
    Step 1:
connect the Rj45 and try. This is only for testing your Internet connection is ok
    Step 2:
    check settings for wireless unsecured
remove Rj45 try in wifi mode.
    Step 3 :
    reconnect Rj45
    settings for secured wifi mode.
    remove rj45
    try secure mode wifi

    Hi Essbee & Guys,

I could not understand you. Let me describe how I tried this:

    1. I disabled wireless using browser
    2. Connected the cable
    3. Tried connecting to internet.

    It just dint connect.

    4. So, I changed it back to wireless-enabled

Now, it works fine. The light on the cable-port however keeps blinking all the time.

Also, VERY IMPORTANTLY, can you please let me know how to check if my Wifi is secured. When I was trying things out, I am afraid I might have switched off the secure mode / pwds or something like that.

    Many thanks,

In your computer desktop or laptop
in network settings have you configured a LAN connection /
do you have an ethernet card installed PCI card or built in for laptop ?
    Post these data
    START RUn tyype cmd
    OK
    New window
    type ipconfig /all
    or
    Start network connections
    select LAN
    Properties
    status/support etc.

compare with Wireless lan set up.
