Bsnl has monopoly but what can be done?
We all have to stick to bsnl or leave broadband coz we don't have bharti's connection availability!

That is not true. There are two issues here:

    a) Other private ISPs like Airtel, Reliance, etc. do not wish to go to smaller cities and towns.
    b) City corporations are not allowing digging of roads anymore (and very rightly so).

If WIMAX gets legal and more spectrum is allocated then Reliance will chew broadband market till now reliance is giving best wire free broadband in India thus no need for dug up and lay wires

just look at the link speed from my WIMAX to nearest BTS

So what is stopping Reliance? Forget small towns, Reliance is unable to give even Wimax connections in cities. Reliance is one of the most unreliable group in corporate India.

Some select few get it. As far as you are concerned, enjoy your speed.

its not about stopping, until wimax gets legal and enough spectrum is given only cities will have WIMAX BTS(all is the hands of TRAI to give spectrum, Reliance already have class leading ISP structure which no other ISP in India have!) your saying they are unable to give services in cities is completely wrong i'm darn sure in Pune you have Reliance Wimax available but you like BSNL and haven't tried Reliance Wimax on the other hand Wimax by BSNL is complete disaster!

ROFL 100X better! on which basis? would you elaborate, just look at the whole BSNL forum its flooded with problems (more than every ISP forum should combine), BSNL gives basic connectivity with stone age infrastructure, also they have shown their impotency by applying FUP, and not everybody is free like you to visit BSNL exchange for solving their problem! in terms of connectivity, speed, latency & infrastructure Reliance is light years ahead of BSNL.

BSNL forum is flooded with posts cos its used by max users (more than all other ISPs combined.)

Very few posts in RELIANCE forum cos of less market share and most ppl get so pissed off, they just change their ISP.

Rcom is naive and ignorant. The entire Reliance group is unreliable. It is laughable when someone says that Reliance section is not with complaints. From the entire wired BB community (consumers not corporate) in India, Reliance reach is about 5%. Even then there are complaints. You have to just visit the sections in this forum and other forums as well.

The only thing reliable about Reliance group is that it is guaranteed to be a massive pain in the a$$.

@all, Leave Rcom alone. He is going to rant forever to say how good Reliance is. It will only lead to fights.

lol....everyone has got problems and not all are able to solve it independently. and this is why this forum is for.

speaking of BSNL , i know their CC sucks but service of BSNL at my location is simply excellent and so is the connectivity. i dont remember when was the last time i had any issues with my connection. as not even a single disconnection from last 6-8 months.

And when i register any complaint its solved in 24 hrs and i get 3 confirmation calls of same.

and FYI : Service of any ISP depends on your location, here BSNL is best and Airtel , RIL are WORST. TATA too is good at my place.

and don't tell me about Rcom, its full of morons at-least BSNL are way better than Airtel and Rcom.

I agree with j4K and anil..... BSNL is the firm which made the Internet available to the common masses at low rates. It is only on their trails that the others came up.

We all know what the Rcom is capable of. If service is what they really mean, they should take steps to reach the inner areas too. At the moment, I feel they are only concerned about urban people where the business is more profitable.

Every network has its own faults too. BSNL, attending to so many the moment, may not always find it easy to attend to everyone within 10 mins...!!

Surely we have a lot of BSNL users here like me who benefitted from the forum big time. Most often we tend to start threads only when we some across a problem. If BSNL was really no good, the forum would have been filled with millions of BSNL complaint threads. There are many many satisfied customers of BSNL who enjoy the service. Ask me, I would say BSNL is my first Broadband choice. No other Indian ISP plan has ever tempted me so far.

Even with so many customers, atleast 80% users are getting full speeds as per the plan(let alone system faults). This to me is the best advantage of BSNL.

@BSNL junkies:live with your stone-age BSNL and be under the rocks because you BSNL fans just cant digest the progress made by other ISP's and try to be super smart with pony BSNL.

    @Rcom,

I have found that you are not helping members. You are only criticizing BSNL. If that is your sole objective then please note that your suggestions are not solicited. You are kindly requested to leave the BSNL forums/problems/issues alone. That is why your previous posts have been deleted because they serve no purpose.

I am finding that you have resorted to your old practice of whiplashing BSNL. Yes. BSNL is backward. Yes. Reliance is the best ISP, not only in India, but in the whole world. Yes. BSNL is all $hit and Reliance smells like a Chanel N° 5.

    Are you happy now?

Now please leave us in peace and let us rot in our dung.

    Thank you.

p/s. If you mess again, you will be banned like before. Last warning.

Exactly! Nowadays even I feel Lazy to log in the forum as I am not faceing any problem now. And as I have observed till now, most of the people only log in and create threads when they have a problem( Like me). Thats why many times one can see only negative views and ratings about a particular ISP.

Example: Look at first few threads at MTNL Broadband created only by a handfull of problem facing members spoiling the image of the entire ISP.

For this I suggest a few useful threads in a particular ISP section to be made sticky.

    @Rcom
Is your speed in complete Unlimited? Please PM me your plan details as I am interested in Reliance Wimax and its available here.

I could not help but smile when some of us posted that "If BSNL sucks, DON'T use it". Surely, nobody is putting guns on someone's head to buy BSNL broadband. There is just no use simply criticizing BSNL. If anyone has problems, please post it here and most of forum members who've faced it will be glad to guide anyone. BSNL doesn't have the majority market share for nothing Having said, there are issues and we are ready to work around it. That is why we have chosen BSNL.

Finally Just4Kix thank you for making it clear that posts will be deleted which make no sense but criticize and give no solutions to any problems. Criticism should be only to intend on a possible solution in which BSNL can work on. Mindless criticism is of no use to anyone.

BSNL's 500C and 600C plans are THE BEST in the market and now with 512 Kbps at 750 Rs and a range of higher plans.

Coming to problems with BSNL, this is why this forum is serving such a great cause. THIS IS helping BSNL to find its own loopholes and enabling users like us to co-ordinate and resolve our problems. As indicated already by others, that in case of other ISP's maybe just nobody gives a damn anymore other than changing the ISP itself. If that's not true, then login to the respective forums and discuss your issues there, please don't disturb the peace in this forum singing praises of other ISP's and trying to make people using BSNL feel as if they are in stone-age.

My experience from April 2009 to May 2010

    The good :
    No connectivity errors so far
    No frequent disconnections.
    Good ping for Online gaming
No speed drops.I have been getting 230+ KBps all the time
20% off in Broadband fixed charges and in usages. (Gov. employee)
    Available even in rural area

    The bad :
    CC peoples are N00bs
Errors in usage Calculation (Only happened once but that was huge)

I still prefer BSNL (20% off is a huge bonus) and changed plan to BB Home Combo UL 750.

I have no issues if someone criticizes BSNL - after all this is not my baap ki company (my father's company).

But there are certain people who have not made any effort to help people or an iota of difference to the forum. We do not expect that each and every member will help others. But if that someone is not willing to help, then let him/her keep his sorry ass somewhere else.

Anyone who says "hey you retards, look you ride on your scooter/m-cycle while I am riding a BMW" is not welcome here. But if the same person, gets off his BMW and helps the two-wheele rider mend the "tyre puncture", will get amply rewarded.
