hmm... what are your dns set to??

are you still on those bsnl's erratic dnses??

change them to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 or just to 4.2.2.2 under network settings > IP 4

Test your connection's speed by using this tool from Youtube.com.

YouTube - Broadcast Yourself. - link, click on "Show Test Video", you will find your connection's speed when the video start's playing in real-time.

try with different free dns services and tell what you get....

this may be due to your browser also... try ff or chrome and not IE. and or some other browser..

or it may be just low internet from bsnl

DNS tweak will NOT boost youtube loading speed its solely depends upon BSNL servers which are choked every time! so expecting cent per cent speed from bsnl is too much considering the fact they are using 3rd class copper infrastructure to deliver last mile connectivity.

Yeah, YouTube won't "buffer" alright (around 12 KB/s), but I can "download" the video from YouTube servers at 60 KB/s!!

    BSNL is unbelievable!

DC is not my problem...so you want me to tell them this so that they would check my connection?!

And by the way, I don't have my phone line attached..I have the number of the person who manages BSNL in my area but I guess he's dumb and he won't know what YouTube is!

then attach the phone , make a call to 198 and LIE them and keep the phone connected so that you can pick it when they ring back.
I am sure the problem will be solved this way else if you talk to them about you-tube , it will take ages

    All the best.

Explain them the problem in the way they understand. youtube is UNKNOWN to them lol

If you really.... really want to see a youtube video download it using IDM or some other download manager....

Even with 2 Mbps plan, the buffering is awful....

Eh, I would do that...but then why was streaming invented in the first place?
To watch the video side by side, as it streams!

    BSNL, FU! XD
    Can't even stream a video properly.. =/

Streaming was invented for countries like U.S.....

Buffering a video might take 15mins.... Why take that pain when you may be able to download it in 2mins..... Even if you don't want you can delete it, nothing much of a waste.....
