    No problems.

How are you finding this modem? Any other problems? especially regarding disconnections.

I've used it for 4 years.

This modem is great. Never had any issues so far. Hey I need one more favor from you regarding Wireless configuration. Soon I will be activating Wireless for my other laptop and I need your help in security configuration.

    1. For scurity, Do I need to go for WEP or WPA ? I have been told WPA is latest and best, in that case under WPA screen which option I need to choose? 802.1x or PSX Hex or PSK String?

    2. What is Access List? Do I need to add my MAC Address?

    Hi,

    1) I have enabled WPA, with the PSK string. Found it easy to configure. (Modem doesn't support WPA2)

You'll need to configure the same on your laptop too.

    (assuming windows XP)
Under wireless networks -> properties -> association
    Network authentication - WPA-PSK
    Data encryption - TKIP
Network key - the one you just entered in the modem

    2) Yes, access list is for additional security. You can enter the MAC ID of your wireless card - do so for all the laptops/desktops that are to be used. Be sure to add them under 'Allow'.

    3) Also consider hiding the wireless network:
Modem page - 192.168.1.1 -> setup -> wireless setup -> advanced -> enable hidden SSID
