Angry Frequent Crashing of Download Speed to 0 KB/s

I use the Compex MRL21E modem and Bit Comet.

While downloading stuff, I get extreme speeds upto 200 KB/s for a few seconds and then the speed suddenly falls to 0 KB/s. After this, when I restart the modem, speed resumes to it's peak and again to 0 in a few seconds.

Also BitTorrent and uTorrent show 0 DHT, and speed never crosses 90 KB/s. Only BitComet works.

Somebody please help, as i cannot download anything.

Also please send the correct config for my modem.

    Thanks.

    1.Try direct download via browser.
    2. Use FDM to download.
    3. Mention OS and whether Updated.
    4. ANY virus /malware check done ?

    5. For modem settings see UT300R2U link below.

Get rid of Bitcomet... Download Kaspersky trial from site(30 days), run a full scan.
Update your system. Update Java Runtime Environment also....

I think you may have adsl line problem hence your connection is getting disconnected and your speed goes to 0, when you restart the modem your connection gets restored. try using dialup networking to connect instead of using modems inbuilt connection settings (i.e saving username and password inside the modem/ router which is set as default during installation of modem by bsnl peoples)

    Thanks for the reply guys.

@essbebe: I use Windows XP PRO SP3 Network Installation Package for IT Professionals and Developers. For antivirus, anti-malware and firewall I use COMODO Internet Security free and the scan reports no discrepancies and yeah, i've started using FDM, please tell me what setting should i use for the optimization master. I have the BSNL 500C plan.

@faninencore: Yeah, actually i myself did that setting in the modem. I'll try switching to dial-up.

Lodge a complain against your connection problem on 198
Get your line checked as the speed goes to 0 and you are facing disconnection problems too!
May be possible that your line has joints and if they are get them removed as downloading problems are due to line not the clients you are complaining that is u torrent!!
