Well well well, I don't think I had so less speed while having 250Home plan a few months back. My d/l speed was 200 to 300 kbps. I murdered it by switching to UL900, most unfortunately!

Thumbs up New to BSNL at this village in TN, South India

Friends,

Due to a proactive BSNL Telecom district at Kodavasal, Tiruvarur Dt, TN, I have BB. Can even sign up for 'always-up-unless-down'. Am located at 5 km from the nearest exchange & ADSL is fine. Wonder what will happen when rural India wakes up in thenext few years. Will BSNL keep up with the legitimate demand?

Works just fine, except when it is down, IT IS DOWN! Whole of yesterday no BB. Fortunately have R-connect (download speed 3-8 kbps)to get us 10 people band going....

Shift your telephone line to the nearest technical exchange. Secondly, check ur own home connection as the tele line that come to ur home should first get inserted onto the ADSL spliter then from that u may take out parallel lines, leaving one for the ADSL modem.
Please let me know if this worked. Bye!!!!!!!!!!!

How am i supposed to shift my tel. line to "technical exchange"??? as far as parallell lines are confirmed.....i m using splitters.......i have 3 tel. instruments on 1 connection.......main line goes in to splitter......den 1 to modem...other to a 3 way splitter....i think its fine.isn't it? Do I need to change sum settings in my pc to get d desired speed??

Well frnds! I meant, that the line(tele line) that must come frm an exchange. There may be any other exchange in ur vicinity that is closer to ur home/house. ask ur exchange officials to shift the line of ur telephone line to the one nereast to u(if there is any). In my case my the T.line was approximately 3.5km away from my homes location; also my Dnld(Download) speed was too slow compared to the Dnld speed of my other frnds. They enjoyed about 90-110kbps Dnld speed where as mine was only 25-37kbps. Now the T.line of mine is shifted to the nereast of my home. The exchange is only 0.9km & from 1st Jan I enjoy a very good speed. I used BSNL BB from Dec 2005 now its giving me the best performance of it. Bye !

Thumbs up Hi ! Just don't give up

I have tried for long to get a better download speed. I never stop disturbing the BB peoples. Once I came to know that " Mr. Bob ur machine is quite old & is not uptodate of the machines today. Please get a new good machine." Would u belive BSNL peoples do said this to me. Well if AMD 3200+ 64 FX 939 CPU, MSI RS 482 M4 main board, 512 400mhz Zion RAM, 6600GT 256Mb Geforce Nvidia Graphics Card Machine is said to old enough not support then what to say to thouse BSNL Officials(#@!$@%$#$&^#&^#$^^Y). After this they urged if i have original XP . That was my condition now the officials know my cell no. and the name. even if I go there for any of my frnds they say "You again, for what? Ok Ok ! iI will see it on . . . " . Don't give up what ever they say, its ther technical fault not yours & they try to avoid their duty. Bye 4 now

Default Kbps Vs KBps

Kbps Vs KBps
The bandwidth specified by ISP is Kilobits per second (Kbps). However Browsers and other file transfer agents tend to show speed in terms of KiloBytes per second. So 1KBps will mean 8Kbps. Some one mistake KBps as Kbps and feel that they are not getting the desired speed.

Wink to anubhav..

if you want your connection to be an always on connection, instead of logging in each time you want to get connected, then do the following:

Go to Network Connections (windows xp)
Right Click on the connection that shows up under 'Broadband' with 'WAN Miniport (PPPOE-Point to point Protocol over Ethernet)' displayed, and among the options in the right click menu, click on Properties.
Now, a window pops up, displaying tabs, one among them being 'Options'.
Click on the tab.
Check the Checkbox that is beside 'Include Windows Logon Domain'.
You are done.
Restart your computer and check if this method worked.
Do write in your comments.
And yes..one more thing.
U said that speed test tells you ur speed is 200kbps.
then your download speed also has to be the same.
if you have a look at my prev. post, it says that i get 200kbps download, 80kbps upload. thats true..(actually, 192kbps to 240kbps. it varies)
Use some tweaking and troubleshooting software for knowing where it is going wrong in your case. Good Luck.
