| [FONT="Tahoma"][SIZE="3"] Hi!.. *** I do not have any NETWORKING Knowledge *** and need a help to solve my problem. This is a long one.. Please go thro' and give me a solution!. I need it urgently. I'm using ADSL Modem WA 1003A... and configured it to share the broad band as given in this forum. My set up is as below: 1. PC with Windows XP Professional with two LAN cards (NICs)..used one for LAN and the other to connect WA1003A modem. 2. I have set the WA 1003A in router mode. I have configured one of the NIC with ip 192.168.1.2 MASK 255.255.255.0 192.168.1.1 DNS192.168.1/61.1.96.71. >> My organisation has intranet having segmets spread across several locations with private IPs 192.168.x.x and 172.20.x.x. >> My segmets are assigned 192.168.43.x and 172.20.4.x with two indipendent routers to route to two different segmets. >> The PCs in my segment need to access only any one of the segmets and not both. And only I have the function to access both. 3. In my PC, the second network card is configured to access both my Intranet segments (192.168.x.x and 172.20.x.x). To access both seemlesly i have used winXp's IP routing functionality by tweeking the registry key HKEY_LOAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\ Services\Tcpip\Parameters and changed the value of the string "IPEnableRouter" from '0' to '1'. Then from command prompt using "Route -p add ..." command set the consistent ip routing properly for both segments... and were seemlesly working. 4. I have the function to access both the networks (192.168.x.x and 172.20.x.x) as well internet. 5. Sofar, I left the WA1003A to it's default "Bridge Mode" and used PPPoE authendication of WinXp to access internet..(other people seldem in need or did not require Internet). If I want to access LAN, I normally disconnected Internet and accessed LAN. Therefore I didn't experience any problem.. 6. Now We are in need of sharing the Internet to some of the PCs also. I have already set the WA1003A to router mode, with NATing and kept ready for sharing the connection. - No problem as for this. At this jucture the Problem starts : > In PCs which access only the intranet segment 172.20.x.x when I put additional LAN card and configure it to access internet also, I did not experience any problem. I'm able to access thro' browser both internet and intranet applications simultaneoulsy..(Of course I used Wondows 2000 IP routing capability). > Back to my PC... One of My LAN card was already configured with IP of 192.168.43.x. > When I configure the LAN Card used for B.B Modem to 192.168.1.2 ... and try to access any of intranet resources thro' browser in the segment 192.168.x.x, my computer directs all my requests to Internet !!!. or vice versa..!!! ie when I try to access internet it access my intranet.. > I have tried adding the individual address of resouces that I access in 192.168.x.x segment using "route -p add" command but no use. Some time I'm able to seemlesly connect to all the three resources thro' browser /applications. I'm using IE-7 so, i opened 3 tabs to access all the three resources... one after another... successfull... browse into the resources .. OK. Now shutdown or log off the PC and re-start, do the same.. either internet don't work or intranet segment 192.168.x.x don't work... >> I have to disable any one of the NICs to access the other resouce.. >> I need to stay connected to and access alternately any of the resources.. (Internet, Intranet segment-1 and segment-2). I find it very difficult to alternate between enable and disable process... >> In this juncture : is it possible to change the private ip of WA1003A router to the third available private IP of 10.x.x.x ?. If so, will it work?. or is there any other best solution or third party utilities to manage all these..?. I contacted BSNL official but no solution yet. Kindly do mail me if any one have a solution please.. mohanraj63@yahoo.co.in Thanks and regards... [FONT="Tahoma"][SIZE="3"] Last edited by Mohanraj; 01-27-07 at 06:58 PM.
