Default Help needed with installing USB drivers for Teracom BSNL modem

    Hi,

    I have a BSNL type 2 Teracom T2-B-Gawv1.4U10Y-BI modem.

I have followed the exact steps given here for installing USB drivers:
    Teracom Type-II USB DRIVER INSTALLATION

    But the problem is:

    a) My computer doesn't recognize the modem automatically
    when connected thru USB

    b) When I click on the Setup I get the message

"The DSL modem is already installed. To upgrade the software,
remove the old software and run Setup again"

I have already uninstalled the old ADSL modem USB drivers.
So I don't know what else I can do.

Can any of you suggest a solution to this problem?

    Many thanks.

disconnect USB port cable from modem.
    Uninstall all USB drivers.
Now extract teracom USB drivers unzip
and save to say C:/Teracom/Usb drivers.
Restart the system and rec0nnect USB cable to modem system Usb Port.
Let windows Xp/vista detect new hardware . ( did you get this step earlier ?)
    ask for drivers etc.

    Feedback.

    No luck.

XP does not detect new modem.

    So what next?

I can tell you that the usb cable doesn't have any problem.

Please see "Teracom" link given below.
and ask for customer care help. feedback here please.
If XP does not detect New hardware connected to USB port
( try another USB port), I don't know what can be done.
ADSL Modem is usually not listed in Device Manager.

UPDATE June 15th : NOT available.

btw, the rapidshare link where drivers from cd are uploaded is dead.

    Hi,

I received a rather quick response from them.

Here's what they had to say...

    Dear Sir,

This USB port is not in the current use. It is for the future use as per the BSNL requirement or tender.

    Thanks & Regards,

    Web Site:- Teracom :: Terexel
So should I assume there are no suitable USB drivers for this modem as yet?

    Confusing!

    from Rapidshare.
    Error
This file is neither allocated to a Premium Account, or a Collector's Account, and can therefore only be downloaded 10 times.
    This limit is reached.
To download this file, the uploader either needs to transfer this file into his/her Collector's Account, or upload the file again. The file can later be moved
to a Collector's Account. The uploader just needs to click the delete link of the file to get further information.
    noted.
Then why Calcutta Telephones have given the USB driver and procedure.
Refer the link to Teracom CC.
    feedback please.

    Hi,

I emailed them again. Here's what they said...

    Dear Sir,

As I have already said that this USB port is not in the current use. It is for the future use as per the BSNL requirement or tender although they have given this driver earlier.
I'm curious to know if anybody has been able to install these USB drivers successfully.

Sorry. forgot about it. sending email to denibchn@dataone.in to day.
    Dear sirs,
In Calcutta telephones web site USB drivers have been provided for above model/s.
But Teracom ( In India ) when contacted says, it is for future use and BSNL present contract does not allow provision of USB port in their models.
    Please clarify.
When Teracom is connected to system via USB port the hardware is not detected.
    Thanking you

I think what they meant was that teracom provided the usb port
because it was required as per bsnl tender, but they haven't really
activated the usb port in the current modems.

I think that's what they meant, but if that is indeed the case
the bsnl guys would be idiots to give out usb drivers when the
usb port has not even been enabled.

    Reply received from denibchn.
    Dear Sir
It is true that BSNL has not asked for USB port in Teracom modems and thatis the reason, they have not given the USB cable along with the modem.
However we shall update you, regarding the possibility of working of USB, ifwe get further information please

I guess this matter is closed permanently then.

We can't really expect the bsnl guys to follow up.

Perhaps ethernet to USB port adapter can be used in Laptops
not having Ethernet port. Search in Google if required.
