Default Anyone else getting bad speeds to international servers ?

Horrible latency - gradually increases to 540ms from the normal of about 320-330ms, and then packet loss.

On top of that occasionally BSNL goes completely down (at least it was for me for most of yesterday, couldn't even connect).

Routing is a total mess - there are several high latency choke points and bsnl seems to be changing between different routings non stop over the last 1-2 weeks.

Reconnecting to BSNL 15-20 times sometimes gets you a good routing but even this is not always the case.

Opendns/googledns etc provide very marginal gains.

Now the problem is not only during night time and the usual guaranteed 6am-8am period, but now also during the day.

Youtube videos and any kind of streams are basically horrendous now.

What on earth is going on and why are there so few posts about this

Did YET another undersea cable fault happen ?

I am not facing any problems. Maybe there is some problem with your line. Check SNR Margin and line attenuation.

    SNR/Attenuation are fine.
    snr : 14 dB /22.0 dB
    att: 7.0 dB /14.0 dB

both your ping times are extremely high (bangalore/auckland) - bangalore should be <100ms and auckland should be 250 ms max.

was fine up to about 6am today (june 18th), then was absolute garbage latency up to about 8am (500ms+). Back to normal (330 ms) between 8am-11:34 am.

Right now (11:37 am) latencies are slowly creeping up yet again to the 400ms (and i expect it to go up to 500).

    Really this is awful

And I'm sure it's affecting not just me since the latency jumps only happen on the 5th/6th hops when the packets reach the USA.

    @essbebe
    nice pings
sad part is comcast is considered awful in the US lol

    US west coast:

    US central:

    London, UK:

    Dhaka, Bangladesh:

bit ridiculous that a server located so close has a 367ms ping

    Auckland, New Zealand:

    Mumbai :

I'm finding it hard to believe that this is a local problem when pings to mumbai are fine, but any ping to any country outside india (even bangladesh) are absolutely terrible.
