    Default Block the motive.bsnl website

    Hi guys! i have this method of blocking the site and its working perfectly for me:

    Open

    Start->My computer->C:/>Windows->System 32->Drivers->etc->

    In the folder there is a file named "hosts".

    Click the file and you will get open with....

    Open by note pad.

    Then you have something like given below given :

    # For example:
    #
    # 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server
    # 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host

    127.0.0.1 localhost

    Type the two lines below the above lines in blue as in the attached one.

    Then save the file, close the file. Then try connecting broadband and open some site . You will initially get connection lost or something instead of the Stupid and phishing site.

    This blocks the site but does not prevent the redirection. Instead of getting the motive webpage, what we get a "Page not found" error.

    But nevertheless something is better than nothing.

    If you use Firefox 3+, You can go to Tools > Options > Advanced > General ...and make sure box against ...Warn me when web sites try to redirect or reload the page....is checked.

    This blocks and warns before any such redirects.

    Try cartoon network website. They wont geographically redirect you to india site for instance.
