Default Reboot Problem In ITI DNA A211-I

    Hi,

I have the said modem, Been using it from past 6 odd months or so with the latest dec firmware that was up on SemIndia site (3.08.02.IB.02.01_cfe_fs_kernel) !!

Now from yesterday it started to reboot non stop, I tried to flash Beetel (THU-0Q-005_TEST_2-20080928.img) but was not successful, Gives a message Fatal error ! Now even if I try to flash the BSNL firnware mention above it gives the same error message !!

Am not sure why or what is the reason for this sudden occurrence of this problem !

Anyone has any idea's or clues to sort this issue ? please do post.

    Regards.

    3 options

    1. do what dilip said
    2. buy new one
    3. flash the router with its original firmware

    @ @soundsgreat
    option 1 :
    3. flash the router with its original firmware @talktoanil
Even now IF the Modem/router DNA 211 -I is l not working.
    THEN.
The hardware board is same . see link WA3002-G4 below.
If so, then you can try this beetelupgradetool
MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service
which updates to THU- 003 etc .
If successful latest version of Beetel 220BXI can be tried.
    Warning:
you may lose WIFI Wireless settings . I am not sure.

See this thread also. see warning/report by @ravikang. !!!
    http://www.indiabroadband.net/bsnl-b...html#post66634 (Modem firmware upgrade ??)
Some Beetel web site links are not available now.
    Feedback please.

When ever we make changes in modem settings. in some pages
you find SAVE option. or SAVE/Reboot
Then if you close the menu pages the change/s may not be incorportated.
So we select "REBOOT" ( In Management)to allow the changes to take place. usually wait for 2 minutes.

    Hi,

    Thanks all for posting !!

Essbebe I tried that beetel tool and it killed the modem permanently !!

First it wouldn't do much coz the default password of BSNL is "admin" as opposed to Beetels "password", So I changed that and then started the process again, just like in the link you posted the screen went till "wait till modem reboots upon which the modem only gave a inet light, Lan light and nothing !! the wait for modem to reboot screen went on for 1/2hr which is when I knew its dead ! So I took the power out and removed the Lan and left it for 15min and powered it again with same result !! if I remove the Lan cable only the Inet LED glows !!

So Am totally screwed now !!!

Any idea's as what went wrong or how reverse this ( I don't need any sarcastic comments on this now ) !!

    Regards.

    1.
can you access the modem menu pages ?
    2.
I presume that you tried Option 1 ( original DNA FW)
and then only tried the beetel tool.

Yes the first thing I did was that, I thought you read that before !! It wouldn't upload the firmware from the webpage or the SemIndia Tool !! Thats the reason why I chose use the beetel that you gave !

    What Now ???

    Regards.

You can only RESET the modem ( reset access may be in the rear or a small round hole near right leg of unit. )
and try to access menu pages.
If successful, try original Firmware .
Else , you have a "DUD" unit .

Well I tried but no use no reset no nothing ! nothing works !!

I strongly think it was firmware mismatch that killed it !! Anyways my bad luck.

Will go to the exchange and try to fight my way into getting a new replacement !! Lets how that goes !

Btw if there is any other option through I can revive it ??

    Regards.

Try telnet option and see if you can access modem settings pages.
Sorry. No way to revive it.
