Default Connecting Ipod Touch on Type 2 BSNL BB (Modem - AR800v v3.0)

    Hi,

I am having problems connecting my Ipod Touch on BSNL BB

    Modem - AR800v v3.0 (Type 2)
Manufactured by - Fujian Star-net Communications

I can connect my laptop to the wifi network and I have checked that the PPoe mode and DHCP are enabled in the modem.

I tried BSNL customer care but with no luck..... It would be helpful if anyone could help me connect my ipod to the wifi ..... Thanks in advance

    see teracom link below.

Presume you are on "Dialer' mode PPoe.
Change to "AlwaysOn" PPP/PPPoE and enter your userId and PW in wan page of modem.
    Post copy/paste here
    ONLY when in wireless lan mode;
    ipconfig /all

    Just as essbebe said:
    • Your internet connection (modem) must be configured in PPPoE mode (always ON), i.e., you should not be using bridge mode where you dial the connection every time.
    • Handheld devices such as iPod Touch, iphone, Windows Mobile smartphones, etc. also have a TCP/IP interface. It is best to enable DHCP service in the modem so that these wi-fi enabled devies are allocated an IP address automatically.

1.please check link "teracom" given below.
2.Under services menu select UPnP also.
    3. DHCP give a range say 192.168.1.3 to 192.168.1.10
    4. does the name of the WIFI given in router appear in IPod?

Yes the name of the wifi does appear on my ipod but when I type in the password it says " Not able to Connect". I did look at the Services menu and did not find UPnP.

These were the options available to me on the Services menu

    IGMP Proxy
    IPv4 Routing
    IPv6 Routing
    Quality of Service
    Mac Filtering

All of these require Superuser Admin password except IPv6 Routing.

    Thanks for your reply

You should connect in "ALWAYS ON" PPP/PPPoE mode.
In WAn page your user ID and Password entered in WAN page.
    see this

    In services UPnP is available.

essbebe actually that is the same type of page that I was talking about. I too do not see UPnP in that. I see enable DHCP and UPnP being mentioned, but how to check if it is enabled and how to enable it, where is it located on the modem webpage?
