Thread: Please Help Me

I have recently (From 1 June 2010) changed my plan to Home UL-750 to Home 500c (Night Unlimited) as i was frustrated with the speed of Home UL-750.I am using Siemens C2110 (Type 1) modem provided by BSNL.But I am not getting enough speed.My average download speed is 175-190 KBPS (Direct Link) & 145-165 KBPS (uTorrent).I told it to BSNL,they said to me that the distance from telephone exchange to home is a factor in speed.But many of friends have Home 500c connection & they stay far away from exchange than me (My distance from exchange is 3.5 KM,some of my friends stay 5-7 KM away from exchange) but they are geting very good speed (235-300 KBPS).Please help me on this,is there any problem in my line?What i should do & what i would say to BSNL to fix this problem?

You are getting the designated speeds only. Maybe your exchange has altered the contention ratio to accommodate more users on the same DSLAM.

When I was with BSNL, I too used to experience fluctuations in the speeds. Usually it fixes out by itself..

What you are getting is normal speed. Not everybody is lucky to get 240 KBps. I stay about 500 M from exchange and get a speed of 200 KBps.
