Default Can we avoid this Motive.bsnl.in?

I searched for the motive posts and the common replies were to "Ignore it".. That's what I've been doing for past 2 months. But it's interrupting my browsing and downloads everyday..

Even If I want to use that software, I can't as it is an .exe file which won't run on my ubuntu.

Also from other posts, I guess they'll show the error "This service is not extended to your network" Because I'm in Madurai, Tamilnadu.

Is there anyway that we can totally avoid being redirected?

ps. I noticed that the zip file is being downloaded at a 250kBps along with torrents being downloaded at a seperate 60kBps(my max)

Don't clear browser cache. For me it worked. Only once redirected.

Try entering the website address in Hosts file.
Create System restore or back up your Registry.

From my opinion, there is no way to "escape" bsnl's ad-site.

Facing that crap since many weeks!!!

    Go to "http://www.motive.bsnl.co.in/"

Then click following link. This link is on top of the page.

"If you have already installed self-care software/firmware upgrade or if you do not have a CPE supplied by BSNL kindly proceed browsing by opening a new window/tab and typing the URL. "

It will take you to "http://www.bsnl.co.in/service/dataone.htm"

After this "motive.bsnl" will not trouble you. This helped me. Try. Please Don't clear browser cache after this.
