Default Plan Change From BBG FN 500 to BBG 250

I had submitted a request for Plan Change from BBG FN 500 to BBG 250 on 25th of June.

I had mentioned that I wanted the plan to change from the 1st of July since I would be leaving home on the 30th of June.

And I had download more than 2 GB using torrents today morning from 2 am.
And when I opened my browser now they redirected me to the 1GB limit exceeded page.

I agreed to continue and then checked my portal page which is showing my portal orders as :
    BBG FN 500 - Closed
    BBG 250 - Provisioned - 27/06/2010

I checked the data usage its showing :
    Messages
    # An Error occured while getting the remote connection
    # Error while retrieving Customer Service Map

And I am not able to check my usage now.

Why did they change the plan on 27th June itself?
If it stays like this my bill is going to be very high. Please help.
So what can I do now?

We cannot request for the plan change date. They have no option to set it to a future date. The plan is provisioned once they go through the process. Make a complaint to Nodal officer or Appellate authority and try to deal with the huge bill you may get. Address and phone no on the backside of your bill.

If I change back to BBG FN 500 plan. Will that do any good?

My usage details are as below :

Chargeable Units(MB) Excluding Night Unlimited = 4950 MB

Downloaded on 27th June (BBG 250 plan) = 2767 MB

Downloaded from 1st June till 26th June (BBG FN 500 plan) = 2183 MB

Can someone help me with the bill calculation for the above usage.

Downloaded on 27th June (BBG 250 plan) = 2767 MB
Check correct name for Tariff Plans OLD and NEW names >

Depends during which period this usage is accounted.
If during 0800AM to 0200AM whether on Home 500 or Home 250
( old names ) you will be charged for this usage !!!
If during 0200AM to 0800 AM, you can ask A.O to consider it as Free Nu and waive the charges, as your application ( written ?) clearly states plan change w.e.f from 1st July 2010.

Now you are on Home 250 and for June27th to June 30th data quota is only 33 MB x 4 = 132 MB approx.
Still if you download in excess again, you cannot claim exemption.

Check usage at BSNL Portal or at selfcare site ( if applicable )tomorrow 28th June 2010.

Worst case scenerio: Any data usage ( less NU ) in excess of 2.5 GB (BBG FN 500) will be charged.

Since your plan got changed on 26 th, you will not get full 1.5 GB. What you will get is (26 * 1.5/30) + (4 * 1/ 30).

For Home 500 plans, extra usage will be charged @ 60 paise per MB. For Home 250 also it is 60 paise per MB. Hope this helped.

The limit for BBG FN 500 is 2.5 GB.
    So it comes to a total of (26 * 2.5/30) = 2218 MB
But I have used only 2183 MB till 26th June.
    So its absolutely fine.

    Now from June 27th till June 30th, I can use (4 * 1/30) = 136 MB.
I have used just 10 MB or so today apart from the other 2767 MB which I used between 2 am and 8 am.
So if I am able to convince the A.O. to consider it as Free NU & waive the charge.
It will be perfect for me.

Has anyone been in this situation here?
And what are my chances for the charges to be waived?
    Full form of A.O.?
How should I contact the A.O.?

    Thanx for the replies.

There were similar complaints and many were able to convince A.O ( Accounts Officer). Call customer care and ask the no of accounts officer. Try to convince him before the bill is prepared. That way you need not pay the excess amount. Try to visit him in person if possible.
