    Default Too Slow Browsing!

Well, im using Bsnl 750 home combo plan? My Browsing speed is too slow.. but when i do a speed test it shows nearly 400kbps every time.when i should get 512kbps? But web pages open very slowly , and it takes atleat 1-2 minutes to open a page? Well, i had recently installed windows xp on my pc , and do i have to configure some settings? What can be the problem?

    Try this

http://www.indiabroadband.net/broadb...onnection.html (How to: get max. speed of a connection)

    Also make sure

    1. No downloads happening in background.

    2. Use Bitmeter and keep track of automatic updates which run in the background.

    3. Disable your firewall/antivirus and try.

Speed download is not a constant figure and can vary depending on
servers of different websites / web conditions.
    Average 30KB/sec to 50 KB/sec acceptable.
    512Kbps speed = 64KB/sec
    10.
