Default LAN connection in type 2 bsnl modem

In our office we have four computers all kept next to each others in one desk. We have a functioning internet connection with bsnl type 2 modem with four LAN ports behind. Is it possible to make the computers share internet connection just by connecting the Modem's LAN ports with the computers with cable. What is the easiest way to make the four computers share the internet connection? Please help.

    1.In modem/router enable DHCP
Give a range of say 192.168.1.2 to 192.168.1.10
    SAVE Reboot for two minutes.
You should be using PPP/PPPoE connection
( UserID PW to be entered in WAN page )
    2. In all computers Network settings
    properties
    TCp/Ip
    properties
    Obtain Ip address automatically.
    Apply SAVE.

Thanks essbebe for the quick reply. I supposed I don't need any external router and just the modem is enough. Then after connecting the modem and the computers I will follow your instructions:
    1.In modem/router enable DHCP
Give a range of say 192.168.1.2 to 192.168.1.10
    SAVE Reboot for two minutes.
You should be using PPP/PPPoE connection
( UserID PW to be entered in WAN page )
    2. In all computers Network settings
    properties
    TCp/Ip
    properties
    Obtain Ip address automatically.
    Apply SAVE.
Do I need to set up the workgroup?

    @Mawia
Do I need to set up the workgroup?
No need if you don't want to exchange files folders with different
    computers in a LAN.
