Arrow BSNL data usage? Modem type? Just Help me..!!

    Hi guys,
Finally 1st time i get BSNL BB 500C at my home(PATNA) after 18 days , i'm totally new to broadband service. So i've few question to ask you all. According to plan, my DAY limit to 1.5 Gb, and Night Unlimited (2-8am). I checked my usage on Dataone site, but login failed, Customer care said that site is not working so i cant check my "data usage"

    * So i installed DU METER and NETWORX. but In day time I'm using "AIRTEL GPRS 2GB plan". Now data usage of both Broadband and GPRS getting mix in report. I want individual data usage report for both BB & GPRS. How can i do this??? plzzzz help me guys..

    * I got SIEMENS C2110 ADSL modem, which has one extra port for USB cable, what is the use of this cable?

    * Modem "DATA" light never glow.? Why? Only Power, Link, PC/USB light glow.

    * They have configured my PC (win 7) and entered some ip address to IP4, but when i opened it vanishes, but still my net is working fine. I've also another PC which have XP, what IP address is necessary for manual settings? That time they entered something 192.xxx.xx.x I forget that.

The USB port can be used to connect the modem to your PC through a USB cable. But you are already connected through the ethernet port which is the better option than USB.

This means that you are connected using the bridged mode(means you have to manually connect to the internet using the user ID and password.
The data light glowa when you are connected through PPPoE mode(Always-on mode).

You don't need to change any settings. Since the PC is auto-detecting the IP address which has been fed into your modem.
The manual IP adress can be anything from 192.168.1.2, 192.168.1.3, ......192.168.1.10 and so on.

Vignesh has answered almost all your queries. To begin with the usage of bandwidth meter.

Install two bandwidth meters say Networx and DU Meter. Close the first one while using GPRS. Similarly close the second on while using BSNL connection. That is the only way you can deal with it. Shaplus bandwidth meter has a function to disable the meter during any time period your specify. ie, you preset the meter to omit night unlimited.

Data light will blink only in PPPoE mode. You must be in Bridge mode. ie, you are entering ID and password in a dialler.

Those who do not have ethernet port can connect using USB cable. But for this, you will need USB drivers.

To use BSNL internet on your other computer, use these settings.

http://www.indiabroadband.net/broadb...nectivity.html (How to repair - Limited or No connectivity)

You need to configure a dialler also. Go to network connection and click create a new connection.

    Hope this helped.

thank u bhai.... I just want N/W meter for my broadband only. So my GPRS usage don't mix with BB usage, DU meter adds both in one report.

    .In netWorx settings monitored interface.
Select ethernet card for only BSNL .
    2
.How Airtel GPRS is connected at the same time to computer?
    3.
    Mention modem/router/model/make/number.
    4.
Select from link/s below if available.
    5.
Also give details of the DU meter ( there are many ). Is it trial version for 30 days?
    6.
see this. Try Shaplus meter free.

Shaplus has many alternatives. Just Google for bandwidth meter. You may try Tautology meter.
