    Default Slow surfing speed sometimes.

Modem/Router : Nokia Siemens C2110 (Configured in PPPoe mode)
    SNR Downstream = 33.5db
    SNR Upstream = 6db
    Line Attentuation(Downstream) = 22.5db
    Line Attentuation(Upstream) = 10db
    Connection Standard = G.Dmt

My problem is that every now and then webpages stop loading. It automatically gets corrected after some 25sec. But during this time the connection is not disrupted as all the downloads go on without any problems at the normal speed of around 55kbps to 64kbps(using UL 750). Am using both Open DNS and Goole DNS (in the following order as per the speed - 8.8.4.4, 8.8.8.8, 208.67.220.220, 208.67.222.222)
This problem especially starts after the first boot-up. During this "'disconnection" no webpages load.

May be it is because of congestion of network due to background download in torrents. Limit your download to 40-45 KBps and check.

No, this problem occurs even when there is no downloading/updating or any other king of network activity going on.

I reduced torrent DL speed to 10 KBps and even stopped torrents but no change. I also tried 'google dns' and 'open dns' but no change.

    @Vignesh
Nokia Siemens C2110 (Configured in PPPoe mode)
If PPPoe mode means "Dialer" ""bridged" mode
( UserID Pw entered in computer window )
change over to PPP/PPPoE ""Always On" connection. uncheck "bridged" box
[enter user id and pw in modem wan page]

    2. Try Port forwarding.

There is some problem in Port forwarding. The port start and port end boxes are greyed out, means I cannot enter the values in it.

So it is due to a bug in the firmware as I am having the firmware version V55.1.04.10.
I even tried using the bridge mode, but the same problem of surfing stopping is happening. So I reverted back to PPPoe(Always on) mode. Is there any solution to this problem?

    AT YOUR OWN RISK
you can try Firmware downgarde etc or get the unit exchanged at BSNL.

I don't want to do port-forwarding, so the same firmware/router is ok to me. My main aim is to solve this surfing stopping problem.

Mine is not a DNS resolution problem. I have already told in the question that I am using the DNS according to the speed I get from them. I have used both namebench and DNS benchmark.

You mentioned slow surfing speeds (although this is a bit vague) so i have a similar problem.

Occasionally at completely random times during the day surfing speed/youtube video stream speed becomes very slow.
When I check ping to whichever country the video/website is hosted I see a significantly higher than normal latency.

For example right now latency to the USA is at 491 ms with occasional packet loss.

Check your bandwidth at speedtest.net and post the results.
    Also monitor your pings.

Anyway basically if you get the same problem as me there is pretty much nothing you can do.

switching to bridged/ppoe mode or G.Dmt won't change anything
switching to a different dns server probably won't change anything either

it's a problem with the international connection to India through bsnl which is almost always utter garbage and extremely unreliable.

you can probably switch to a different ISP but if they use a similar routing path the problem will remain.

also monitor SnR/Attenuation over an extended period of time and listen to the dial tone on your phone for any obvious issues (any crackling or static might mean a slight line fault)

in future please post a more detailed description of your problem "internet slow" is extremely vague.

Ok, I agree to it to a certain extent. But my problem started only since last week, before that it was only smooth sailing for me. My friends using BSNL in my town are also not facing any issues.

As of now there is no crackling in the dial-tone. It is sounding as it should.

Isn't this much enough This the maximum that I can make out of the problem. If you want any more info. you can surely ask.

Update: I checked the splitter for faults, got my port refreshed, used the ip/renew, ip/flushdns commands. Still the same result.
