    Hey guys,

Before broadband, My landline phone was in my mom-dad room, and I've PC in my room, Now after getting BB in my room, landline shifted to my room with ADSL spillter. Now its very uncomfortable for my parents to pick/receive calls in my room. How can i set another parallel phone in my parents room??

Can i use parallel connection before ADSL splitter? or
Can i use 2 ADSL Splitter..??

Smile Dont use parallel connection before splitter. Here is the solution

I have tried my best to explain using the diagrams and the pics i have taken of my connector.first refer to pics then read what i have written.

Call your lineman ask him to make the parallel connection in which the phone line which is coming from the post will directly connected to a connector (i have uploaded the pic of a white connector which is given by bsnl) inside the connector there are two divisions one is primary and other is parallel. the phone line coming from outside will be connected to the primary socket and then a new wire is connected to parallel socket which goes to your other telephone.so u can use both telephone and even your internet will not be affected.
you don't have to take tension he will do it.just tell him that the phone line should first go to my pc then it should go to other phones.
you can refer my attachments too.presently i did this thing he charged around 150rs.and now i don't face Disconnections at all and my Dsl led is always stable

NOte:when your internet is on and a phone call comes always pick up the phone near your pc which is directly connected to splitter inorder to avoid disconnections

    ----------------------------------------------------------
take a look at my download speed after changing the dns server address, using the namebench software which i posted earlier .

Default call the line and reconfigure the internal wiring

let the old wires stay in its place and do it with new set of wires.

Default @coolestboyz check this, i have modified your diagram

dont use two spiltters.and to get a better idea of the white connector that i have shown, you need to see it on your own by opening it.then you will understand about my post .primary and parallel are written inside

    I also need the same.
I think, I should ask the line man to add a a 2 output white box to my main line, so that 2 phones output can come out of it.
Thats the only best solution, as far as I think.

From ADSL Splitter, one goes to Phone and one goes to Modem.

    So, one went to Modem.
Now the one which goes to Phone, you connected a Splitter to it. Fine.

So, it gave 2 parallel lines.

So, direct that line should goto 2 phones.
What is that extra splitter doing at the end ?

    I dont think, thats necessary.

The 2 parallel wires which came out of the splitter can just go in directly to the 2 phones.

The line coming from outside will directly go the modem through a extra white junction(i have uploaded its pic) in which it has two ports primary and parallel ,rest is explained in the diagram

Main Line > White Connector > ADSL Splitter > Gives out 2 lines , One for Modem and one for Phone > Modem Wire goes to modem and the line for phone goes a splitter > This new splitter gives 2 parallel connectors for 2 phones.

    SIMPLE!

What Im asking is, why did you add a 3rd SPLITTER on your parallel connected phone ?

    Thats not necessary.

see this picture as recommended by BSNL.

    http://www.calcutta.bsnl.co.in/datao...all/drg10.html
BASIC IDEA: All telephones must be connected after the ADSl splitter
which has got filters ONLY for the telephones.

Modem anyway is connected DIRECT to BSNL Phone junction.
( Inside the adsl splitter it is straight through for modem )

essbebe is right and he is "the guru" here.

    1. Data and voice lines must be separated at the entry point. Inference: no parallel telephone lines before the splitter.

    2. There should be only one splitter in the whole circuit.

The Basic Broadband Guide explains the problem/solution exactly.

Not sure. For extension phones additional ADSL splitter can be used. I had used one extra. ( as concealed internal telephone wiring is available in all rooms )
Recommended additional telephone instruments not more than 3 or 4. ( by British Telephones )

When I meant splitter, I meant the filter that separates high freq data from low freq voice. Essentially, a splitter is a filter.

Since you have already split the high freq data at one point, there is nothing to filter afterwards.

Hence another splitter is not only not recommended, it is quite unnecessary.

    @Just4Kix
Please see diagram at Post No 11. ( originally posted by me ) the "filter" is adsl splitter.
I had experienced "hissing" noise in Extension phone when additional ADSL splitter was not used.

@essbebe, Well, I am not really an expert. I am saying what I read at other places.

But that hissing noise that you heard should not been there. A good splitter should eliminate it at the first point.
