Thread: Error :Authentication with PPP server is in progress ? Why?

    Exclamation Error :Authentication with PPP server is in progress ? Why?

    Its more than 10 days and still m not getting connected...When i asked them at the bsnl office, they says that my connection have been activated. All i have to do is to connect with username/pass with PPoE config.

    But when i tries to do so...its gives me the message :

    "our Router is ready to connect to Broadband.
    Authentication with PPP server is in progress.Wait for sometime for authentication process.You can see the status on internet connection page here "


    But even after a long wait I could not open any website.

    Anyone has got this experience or m i the first one ?
    Please reply why this is happening....

    Complain to Nodal officer or Appellate authority. ID and phone no on the backside of your bill.

    Sorry meetdilip, but i want to know about that error message.
    Why that message is coming....?? i need to know that..

    Is there anyone who knows about it or have experienced of it .??

    error message
    either your connection has not been activated
    or you have entered data incorrectly.

    Mention your modem/make/number/model. or select from the link/s given below:
    Check whether you had done correct settings.
    PPP/PPPoE ; enter userId ( without @ bsnl.in ) and PW in Wan page.
    Check in Diagnostics page for failed components.

    Authentication with ppp server means your USERID and password with the ppp server are sent to the server and verified, if, it is successful your session starts and you can use internet, if not, you are returned with the error message "authentication failure" with some error code no. If you get authentication failure message ask your exchange people to reset your password.

    Let us know the result.

    Problem solved friends.....

    the username/password was wrong...
    BSNL have changed the format and officers were not knowing about it.
    So they were giving me old format.

    Now i have changed it and its working.
    Hope this will help many of us.

    Me 2 eeperienced same problem ur posting was helpful and after a week i got the connection.......they gave wrong user name 2 me............thank u buddy

    what a pathetic service..i also had the same exp.
    i got it right some how ..it was miss written..i lost 4 hrs for trial and error..typing and re typing..any way thank God!!
