Rep Power: 0 | Hi, Can anybody help me out? I am having a WA3002-g1 modem from bsnl. By connecting through LAN cable I am able to login to internet. However, I am not able to connect through wireless, though my laptop is detecting the wireless connection. I am using Windows XP. Regards, Balakrishnan. |

Rep Power: 5 | when you are connected via wireless i.e. with LAN cable disconnected .. go to the command prompt (start->run and type cmd) and then type ping 192.168.1.1 and post output here.. you should get a reply from 192.168.1.1 .. do you have multiple machines in your network? |

Rep Power: 0 | Hello All, I have read many threads about hotmail and other websites not opening on BSNL Data One connection. I have the same problem and I have tried all the suggested solutions that I have found here or elsewhere. I am hoping maybe someone else may have some other ideas as well. Here is a detailed view of my setup: BSNL Data One ADSL Router/Modem: UTStarcom WA3002-g1 Two laptops; 1. Win XP Professional 2. Win Vista Home Premium I had initially setup the modem in bridge mode and had no issues accessing any website. Then I switched to PPPoE mode to allow access to multiple devices on the same wireless network. Since then, I have had issues with hotmail and msn. I have tried OPEN DNS servers, changed the MTU from 1500 to 1492 and 1452 but no use. I did multiple restarts, modem resets, ipconfig/flushdns etc. but no use. I tried pinging hotmail.com but I got no response. I tried multiple modes (flood mode, etc.) but got no response in any mode. Then I switched back again to bridge mode on my PC. Now I can access hotmail but this is not an ideal solution as now I can only connect one PC at a time. Does anyone know why hotmail and msn fail only in PPPoE mode? I am sure this is not a DNS issue as this fails only in PPPoE mode. Also, when I type hotmail.com in Firefox, I can see it contacts the servers and in the status bar I can see it change the name to mail.live.com but it never completes the transfer and the page never loads. After sometime I get an error saying page is taking too long to load or transfer was interrupted. I have tried different browsers as well and I get the same issue everywhere. Now, I even tried to access hotmail via mobile.live.com on my Motorola wifi enabled phone and it opened up in it and I was able to access that site. It just makes no sense why it does not open on either of my PCs. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks, AK |

| Amor vincit omnia | Have u tried with the inbuilt firewall of the router disabled? Frankly i am surprised by such experiences because i was a bridged user, but switched to pppoe lately. And i am facing no such problems with Microsoft domains. I use a D-Link 2540T router. |
