In TCP/IP properties enable obtain IP address automatically
Try without any security key first.

I am giving the details below for the use of many members who have expressed similar problem through private message to me:

Open IE browser and type the address: 192.168.1.2

Open the page by giving username and password as: admin

    Click InterfaceSetup

At the bottom of the page change the value 1500 as 1492
for : TCP MTU Option: TCP MTU(0:default) ..... bytes.

    Press SAVE

Then, click Advanced Setup -> ADSL

Set the ADSL Mode : Auto-Sync Up

    Press SAVE

    Then, click Maintenance -> SysRestart

Set System Restart with: Current settings

    Press RESTART

    Close the web browser.

With the above configuration, I am not having upload problem.

Those of you having problem with the above Modem can try this configuration.
    Hello Netzone,

At the bottom of the page change the value 1500 as 1492 -- did this

for : TCP MTU Option: TCP MTU(0:default) ..... bytes. --> what do u mean .....bytes, shall i set it to zero or 1492 here?

192.168.1.2 would be your modem ip when connected via USB
    192.168.1.1 when connected via LAN(RJ 45)

    Default Hotmail not opening

    Hello All,

I have read many threads about hotmail and other websites not opening on BSNL Data One connection. I have the same problem and I have tried all the suggested solutions that I have found here or elsewhere. I am hoping maybe someone else may have some other ideas as well.

Here is a detailed view of my setup:

BSNL Data One ADSL Router/Modem: UTStarcom WA3002-g1
    Two laptops;
    1. Win XP Professional
    2. Win Vista Home Premium

I had initially setup the modem in bridge mode and had no issues accessing any website. Then I switched to PPPoE mode to allow access to multiple devices on the same wireless network. Since then, I have had issues with hotmail and msn.

I have tried OPEN DNS servers, changed the MTU from 1500 to 1492 and 1452 but no use. I did multiple restarts, modem resets, ipconfig/flushdns etc. but no use.

I tried pinging hotmail.com but I got no response. I tried multiple modes (flood mode, etc.) but got no response in any mode.

Then I switched back again to bridge mode on my PC. Now I can access hotmail but this is not an ideal solution as now I can only connect one PC at a time. Does anyone know why hotmail and msn fail only in PPPoE mode?

I am sure this is not a DNS issue as this fails only in PPPoE mode. Also, when I type hotmail.com in Firefox, I can see it contacts the servers and in the status bar I can see it change the name to mail.live.com but it never completes the transfer and the page never loads. After sometime I get an error saying page is taking too long to load or transfer was interrupted. I have tried different browsers as well and I get the same issue everywhere.

Now, I even tried to access hotmail via mobile.live.com on my Motorola wifi enabled phone and it opened up in it and I was able to access that site. It just makes no sense why it does not open on either of my PCs.

    Does anyone have any ideas?

    Thanks,

    AK

Have u tried with the inbuilt firewall of the router disabled?

Frankly i am surprised by such experiences because i was a bridged user, but switched to pppoe lately. And i am facing no such problems with Microsoft domains. I use a D-Link 2540T router.

    Hi,
I have found out why this happens, it happened to me too, but I dont have a solution yet.

When PPPoE is used from PC, to connect, we use the DNS server set on the PC tcp/ip configs. Here, it works fine when we use the OPENDNS/other DNS servers.
When PPPoE is used directly on Router, to share the connection, I noticed there is no setting on the router to set the DNS server. Hence it dynamically takes a DNS server from bsnl which does not work. For me, I cannot browse microsoft.com, sun.com and other websites.

So, Is it possible to manually set a DNS server on the STARCOMM WA3002 g1 router, when connection is set to PPPoE mode?
