Thread: need smatax mt841 firmware

Hello guys, I am new here.
Well, my problem is that I recently upgraded my mt841 firmware from V100R001C01B021SP01 (July 19 2005) to V100R001C01B021SP03 (Dec 23, 2005) and then for 2 days there was no link. On third day the link came on orange light but the speed was very very slow. Earlier I used to get 200-220 kbps speed in Utorrent but after firmware upgrade it is 8-10 kbps. Now I again don't have link. The link light just flicks and turns off. It doesn't become stable orange. (Modem is on for 3 days but no link)
What i want is the earlier firmware V100R001C01B021SP01 (July 19 2005). Please if anyone has Smartax mt841 then he or she can extract firmware copy and email it to me or if someone has this firmware then please tell me.

I can't find it anywhere on the internet. everywhere it is V100R001C01B021SP03 (Dec 23, 2005). Please help me.

What changes you noticed when you upgraded to Dec 23 2005 version ?
In the menu pages.
Try tcp optimizer from speedguide.net for speed settings.
Change DNS to 8.8.8.8 and 208.67.220.220

Hey eesbee, thanks for quick reply and I really appreciate your effort but now by changing the mode from adsl2+ to g.dmt I think my problem has been solved. Now I get the stable orange link immediately after modem is switched on and speed is also like before. Anyhow if I find any problem later I will notify you.

I have one question : why have you given me the link to the firmware of SmartAx MT880? Anyhow, I can give it to one of my friends who has this model.

Please go to mangement and Back up the settings to say C:/MyDocuments/ MT841 new FW.

Hey eesbee, today while I was downloading in utorrent, suddenly the orange link went off and since it becomes green for 3 or 4 secs and then turns off.
If I turn off the pc and leave the modem on then the link is stable orange. As soon as I turn the pc on the link goes dead and just comes and goes (becomes green for 3 or 4 secs and then turns off).

the earlier problem came again so I reinstalled the same firmware (dec 23 2005) and kept it on default factory settings. The power supply adapter is what was given with the modem and is working fine from about 2 years. Here is the information you wanted me to post : -
Data Path = fast

Operation mode = G.dmt

Bandwidth Up/down (Kbit/sec) = 64/2048

SNR Up/down = 12dB / 13.5dB

CRC, FEC, HEC = all are 0/0

attenuation Up/down = 27.5dB / 48.0dB

Your attenuation is a bit high. Get your line checked by the line man.

@ meetdilip, I am at my friend's home and his modem (SmartAx mt882) has the attenuation up/down = 29.5 / 54.5. But there is no disconnection and the speed is excellent.
