Default Selecting Best plan:- EVDO vs Broadband

this is my first post..after having browsed for hours on this forum..
i'm currently on hathway but since they recently implemented fair usage policy im in the lookout for a new connection.
After lot of research i've two options in mind..BSNL EVDO and BSNL broadband home ul 750..
does evdo really provide the speed as described on the bsnl site??
Which one should i opt for?? cause evdo provides 3.1mbps unlimited at de same price of bsnl broadband..
    Please advice which is better..
plus does bsnl implement fair usage policy on either of the connections i.e evdo and broadband

    Thanks in advance

Suggest select Home 750 plan for the present. If the promised upto 2 Mbps
is tested for the first 15 days, you can shift next month to Home 500 C plan.
Also depends on the number of free telephone calls you may need.
EV-DO contact nearest telephone exchange CC.

EvDO may not always give you 3.1 Mbps. Speed depends on

    1. Distance from the tower

    2. No of users for same tower.

Speed depends on many factors. Get a demo at your place and check how much you are getting. My friend in Bangalore has EvDO. Now a days he is getting mere 120 KBps. But it is still better than 512 Kbps.

now i'm 8000th in their waitlist..
plus when i registered, their plans list was old.like the 750 ul plan was given as 256kbps but in the tariff page it is 512 kbps..
wil i get 512 kbps guys?

    Always Welcome

Yes, you will get 512 Kbps. Don't depend on online application. As per reports they attend it after one month or so. Go to your nearest exchange and give an application.

Not sure. I think they simply do not attend online applications. Last time I heard of it from a member who has applied one month back and still not getting the connection. My advice is ignore it and give an application manually.

Congrats parthasg. You are lucky to get such a good response. You can check your plan online.

Go to data.bsnl.in, log in using your portal ID. Under postpaid orders, enter the phone no in the prescribed format and hit " Search orders ". No need to enter the customer ID, only phone no is enough. In the landing page, you can see your current plan and effective date.

You need not enter the customer ID. If it is ok with you, PM me your Portal ID and password. I will check it for you.

Most of us use a bandwidth meter to keep track of usage. Try one from Shaplus or Networx. I use both.

You can check your usage at same site. In wifi, I have selected b/g. Try it , it may work.
