Queries are raised by member/s to try to find out the fault/s in settings either in modem/router or computer to achieve correct working.
Sometime/s all suggestions fails, and finally new modem is suggested.

if you can mention the old modem/router make/model/number
as well as the new modem's details,
may be some member can give corrective solution.

I learn from threads and posts here, and pass on info to other users.
Hope the misunderstanding has been cleared.
Exchanging /buying a new modem or updating the FW are suggested as last resort.
