I am having a WA3002G4 Type 2 Modem.......I replaced my old WA3002G1 modem and bought this......The only problem is Wifi is not showing up sometimes.....then i have to restart the modem 1 or 2 times or i have to go to the modem settings wireless page and press Save/Apply and then it shows up again....Then, again , when i off it and on it the next time, sometimes WIFI shows, otherwise WIFi is not visible and i hav to repeat the same thing....

    PLease help me.....

OMG OMG OMG.. this is exactly what is happening with me also from a last couple of days. The wifi light is stable . But my phone would simply not detect the wifi. even if my phone is like 1 cm away from the router. once is enable guest account of wifi it detects again (or maybe its like pressing that save/apply button) but same thing happens again the next time. btw im also using WA3002g4 and been tryin to access wifi thru my phone. Not like it matters but jst thought to mention it . The same phone works perfect in my office where we have a different router but BSNL bb connection. my home network is secured wpa/psk.

So should i think this is a virus problem? any permanent workarounds for this/? Didnt try resetting the modem. Ive configured pppoe, so thought its a bigger fuss then my small workarounds :P

confirm the wifi Icon is not appearing in the task bar.
    2
    Check
    Start network WLAN
    Properties
    top box Wlan card
    configure.
    see different settings .
    any power savings option ?
    3.
    copy/paste ipconfig /all

i m having the exact same problem. Only thing is that im accessing the internet from my phone and not any laptop. i tried the save/reboot too. and it does not work. Till now the only solution i found is to hit that save/apply button in wireless >basic everytime (after booting of router) and the thing is that the same setup works without touching a thing of settings in either of the devices once i do my thing.

Seems some problem with the router. I am having the same router and having the same problem. Sometimes I am able to connect from my HP Mini 210-1100 (both OS Jolicloud, and Windows 7) without any problem, but sometimes I am not able to see my wilreless, even if I try to connect to hidden network it doesn't work. Though other networks around my residence are always visible mine is not showing up. I have setup WPA/WPA2 PSK security.

ok. finally ive done my wiki . so here is wot ive tried.
I resetted the router and configure it again >> same results.
I tried disabling TR-69 in the suspition that maybe router is picking sm f'ked up settigs from bsnl,s acs servers. but the problem still persists.
So once i dignose deeper i notice that the network is visible before you connect to the internet but as soon as it gets connected to the internet the wifi signal dissappears. (the wifi light is still on but it wont show up in any of ur devices)

So as of now the only workaround isyou have to make your networks open, i.e. disable any and all kinds of wi-fi securities

i even tried to keep the network open but make it hidden but sometime it works .. sometimes it dosent. so cant do that either.

i know most of us would like there networks secured but this is the way it is.

Hoping for a better solution from you guys. Though for the time being . enjoy this little workaround.

Then use that. So the modem is faulty. Get a replacement or use the old one.

Before changing, if possible get a modem from any of your friends and make sure that it is the issue.

    1.
Please confirm that the new modem/router connectivity /speed all are OK.
Queries are raised by member/s to try to find out the fault/s in settings either in modem/router or computer to achieve correct working.
Sometime/s all suggestions fails, and finally new modem is suggested.
    2.
if you can mention the old modem/router make/model/number
as well as the new modem's details,
may be some member can give corrective solution.
    3.
I learn from threads and posts here, and pass on info to other users.
Hope the misunderstanding has been cleared.
Exchanging /buying a new modem or updating the FW are suggested as last resort.

Mine is now working without any issue. I reset the router to factory default and tried and it was working when the security setting is open. Then changed network name and security to Mixed WPA2/WPA- PSK. I restarted router and netbook many times, so far it works without any issue.

no dude.. the wpa psk.. mixed is wot i was using when it happened. btw ive noticed a strange thing. The router retains the password that i gave to it for wifi in wpa psk mixed. although all other passwords were reset, the name of wifi was reset and the access point was open . but it still retained the password ????

I m thinking that maybe if someone with a properly working router could upload a copy of his firmware, if thats possible. then .. i might upgrade/ overwrite mine//

Hi dont worry abt wifi config about wa3002g4
    go to wireless setup
    go to security
    select network authentication to "open"
    select WEP Encryption ENABLE
    select key 1
enter your key to first column....
    save apply

it worked..... juz set the network auhtentication in wireless security to open... click save.... then put the settings back to mixed WPA2/WPA-PSK..... this way the wifi will work n u dont hav to subject ur connection to unnecessary risks too.... i.e... u can retain ur wireless password...

juz neglect my previous comment.... ( cant find a way to delete it.. ) .... on your royter security settings.... put network authentication as open and then enable wep encription.... that way u can put password to ur network.... n will be visible all the time... been using it 4 a week n didnt failed to get detected even once....
