    Unhappy Some websites not accessible

    Hi guys,
Recently from the last couple of weeks im suffering some problems with my internet not being able to open some websites. Websites which dont open are completly random. Some times the website will open then like say after a couple of hours that particular website wont open while other websites are working fine at that time. and then again after a couple of hours it starts opening again.

These websites range from anything google to yahoo to hotmail.. anything.

Firstly i thought might be some DNS error. then i tried open dns and google's name resolutions servers. (by entering the DNS details in my router by overriding the default automatic, since i use pppoe) but it still didnt help.

Btw i am sure im not the only one affected by this problem , since it happens at both my office and my home. and it has started happening recently.

any workaround to this?? apart from using proxy websites as im doing right now?

    1. Try Opera Turbo.

    2. Clear browser cache and try.

    3. Try another browser and check.

    4. Disable your firewall/ antivirus and check.

Yes I have been having the same problem for the last few weeks as well.

Basically what is happening is BSNL is buying shitty routing to international servers.

It switches between different garbage routes, each of which are highly congested or just plain bad, on different regions of the world; and at different times.

For example up until today BSNL was using different TATA servers to the USA (mcore/icore/vsnl will appear on the IP names if you do a traceroute).

Today they switched to airtel/savvis.net peering.

Inside america BSNL always uses AT&T routing.

In any case I've been having the same exact problem; at different times of the day different websites either do not open, or take extremely long to open.
What's happening is that particular route just got clogged.
If you do a ping or traceroute to these servers you will see a 200-300ms latency spike and/or packet loss.

One solution that works occasionally is to disconnect and reconnect to BSNL (you might have to do this 4-5 times and then luckily get a better route).

    Yes, tunnelling/proxy servers sometimes work.

I'm not sure when these routing problems will end but it's really annoying.
