    Default Wifi issues

just got the bsnl bb connection today.
however noticed an issue. if im connected via lan then i get upto 1.8mbps speed.
but on connecting via wifi 802.11g my speeds are reduced upto 300 kbps or even less.
    why is this happening?
    please help
    thanks

Mention WIFI router mode number., and 100 Mbps for LAN connection.
If your Tariff plan is upto 2 Mbps may not make a big difference.
Speed of transfer usually 54Mbps for wifi routers .
    2.
Test your speed in wifi mode and lan mode and give results as
annexure ( jpg) here. or upload at tinypic.com and give link without http.

Keep your laptop/wifi mobile close to the modem and check. How far are you from the modem ?

i checked every nook and corner of my house.getting the same speed. began to wonder if its cause of some wifi limits or something?

    @parthasg
PM your present IP to @meetdilip
    http://www.ip2location.com/free.asp
He can check your router's settings.

Your present ip no harm if you post it here. I will try. if id admin pw admin

switch off modem after 10 minutes. Ip will change. .

    copy/Paste this data
    Start run type cmd ok
    new window
    type ipconfig /all
( Only this required No tunnel data if OS is vsita etc )
You can check if any driver update possible for wlan card.

Unable to access the IP you gave. Is it dynamic Ip or Default gateway ?

Any one else accessing this forum, at random may do some mischief. That is why I asked you to send PM.
Any way backup your modem/router settings to say
    C:/My Documents/ router working
The if you cannot access , RESET to factory settings and reuse old settings from above location.

    2. Try tcp optimizer from speedguide.net.
    use default or optimal values.

You will find in the LHS panel of your modem. Mostly under " Administration ". Post the modem menu screen shot.
