    Default UT300R2U usb port issues

    Modem: UT300R2U
    Connection: bsnl home 750

    ethernet port is connected to laptop.
    usb port is connected to pc
    usb driver version 5.2.3667.0 (broadcom usb remote ndis device)

    The internet connection on ethernet port is working fine. The internet connection on usb port goes down after using sometime and when it does i cant even open (non responsive) the corresponding network connection in control panel.
    I've also observed that during such situation windows xp takes a long time to shutdown (never waited long enough to see if it actually shuts down). trust me i've observed this phenomena very often to dismiss this as coincidence.once i shutdown and restart my pc the problem sorts itself.on other days when i dont face any problem windows shuts down normally.

    I'd also like to add that i'm using kaspersky antivirus on both devices and it has installed a feature called ndis filter with lot of miniports which can be seen under network adapter in device manager. do u think it is relevant to the issue i'm facing?

    Reinstall your USB driver and check.

    Default thanks for quick replies

    i'll reinstall and let you know in couple of days ... since the issue i'm facing is not regular or reproducible, ive to monitor for a while before i can say for certain that reinstalling fixed my issues.

    reinstalling the usb driver is a big issue in itself though with things like ie8 conflicting with it.

    @abhishe11sharma

    i too downloaded the usb driver from the net from the links posted in this forum, since bsnl guys didnt provide the modem with the cd and packaging stuff.

    How many LAN ports does it have. If it has more than one LAN port, you can try it. Or get a modem with 4 LAN ports from BSNL and use two LAN cable for each of them. You may also use a hub to connect both machines at the same time. I use AR 800V v3.0. It has 4 LAN ports. I used 2 of them before setting up wifi.

    If it is within warranty they will replace it for free. Check with your local exchange.

    Default thnx for the replies ..

    i had visited that calcutta bsnl website before when i first tried to use usb port ... i downloaded the zip file .. i tried running the setup.exe and faced some issue which i dont remember ... the same issue was being faced by someone in this forum to which essebebe recommended an alternate link which worked fine.

    my modem is 2 years old ... never faced any issue except with usb port.anyhow i'll check it out bsnl guys whether i can pay extra along with modem exchange for 4 eth ports (cos ive plans to buy wifi router in future so dont want to buy a hub). thnx for the replies again
