    Angry UTStarcom300R2U and DLink 300 NoWifi..!!

    Hello,

    I have a BSNL UtStarcom 300R2U modem and a DLink DIR 300 Wifi Router. Suddenly my laptops and phones have lost wifi connectivity.

    Router IP : 192.168.1.1
    Subnet : 255.255.255.0
    Default Gateway : 192.168.1.1

    DNS : 218.242.255.212

    My laptop and my phones get an IP address in the range of 10 - 100. But they dont show any DNS server in IP Address settings.

    Tried IPconfig / Release / Flushdns / Renew method but not working.

    Internet works perfect on desktop but doesnt work on any wifi devices. Please assist as it is hampering my daily work.

    1. Are you in PPPoE mode ?

    2. Enable DHCP in the modem.

    3. For both machines, in TCP/IP properties, set " Obtain IP address automatically ".
    4. Have you configured any firewall recently ?

    Do as i say bro, as i have made it with the same setup that you have...
    1st connect your Dlink Modem and to your PC via Ethernet and Press and Hold the Reset Button for 10sec till the light goes off and then release it...
    Keep it aside...

    2nd
    Now connect your BSNL modem and reset it and then enter into Advance Wan and make the PPoe connect with the user name and Password given by the BSNL guys...

    And now unplug your BSNL modem and then Plug the Dlink modem using the Ethernet cable, Dont Plug the enthernet cable in the Internet socket in the back of the Dlink modem, Plug it any one of the 4Ports mentioned as 1 2 3 4...

    Now enter the setting of the Wifi and then set the username and Password for the Wireless network and save and exit the Dlink Modem setup...

    Now connect the BSNL modem ethernet wire to the Internet socket in Back side of the Dlink modem.. And Power on both the modem...

    Thats it.. Simple.. you can use any multiple Wifi based device with your Dlink modem...

    As this 100% worked for me... as i dont own the Wireless router now, so i cant give you a clear instruction...

    In the above setup all routing functions are done by UT300R2U and your dlink router acts like a switch, though it works you don't get port forwarding options, etc.

    There is also another way that is UT300R2U is used as a plain modem and dlink dir300 is used as router and also to dial pppoe session. In this way ip address is assigned to your dlink routers wan port. First take ut300r2u reset it to factory settings and in advanced settings wan option configure it to bridge mode.vpi, vci values 1,35 and bridge mode and other options next save, save and reboot. That is for UT300R2U. Now take DIR-300 reset it to factory settings 192.168.0.1 userid admin password leave it blank and go to internet configuration wizard select pppoe mode and provide your bsnl service user id and password in respective columns.apply save and reboot.

    Now connect ut300r2u lan port and dir-300 wan port with a patch cable turn ut300r2u on and wait till it syncs with dslam i.e. its dsl light is steady. now turn on dir-300 and wait till it dials and gets ip from bsnl. now you can able to surf through internet and go to wirless configuration wizard in dir-300 configure wireless settings.

    In this way you can get more out of your router.Just gothrough dir-300 quick user guide and product manual once to have a more clearer picture of setup.

    @sub2501
    If you mean USB drivers for Ut 300r2u, may not work for 2indows 7.
    confirm.
    or Ethernet LAN drivers check in concerned manufacturer's website.

    @sub2501
    wanted USB drivers for Ut300r2u OS windows 7.

    Download from this official link.
    Download drivers to say C:/My documents/ Ut300r2U usb
    Then connect Usb cable to modem and computer.
    restart system
    let Windows detect new hardware.
    Upload driver/s from above location.
    Most probably you will get message
    Unsigned ' delete hardware safely etc.
    Feedback.
