Question BSNL Nokia Siemens Residential Router 1600 - Port Forwarding??

Recently I moved out of Delhi and changed my laptop as well as had to shift to BSNL broadwand for want of better option. Had forgotten my userid/pwd etc. and wrote to Admin for help but then i remembered the pwd and here I am trying to sort out some problem with my BSNL Nokia Siemens Networks Residential Router 1600 ( V50121-S9001-M102). The blessed device works very slow on torrent d/l and no configuration is found anywhere in the menu which can give me access to do some port forwarding with utorrent .

Can anyone please help me as to what i am missing to explore?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,

Well I myself sailing on the same boat !! So have been doing some R&D on the same,so far I have some success (especially pertaining to portforward) !!

Anyways here's what I'd want you to do !

    1) Try the firmware update tool from motive.bsnl.co.in

2)If that fails access the hidden page for portforward by typing this

    http://192.168.1.1/scvrtsrv.cmd?action=view

Hope this helps,if you have sucessfully update to the new firmware with all the options easily visible (without they being hidden) then please make a backup copy ! Also please let me know and send the same to me !

    Regards.

Oh. I thought since both are from same manufacturer, it may be same. It can also give an idea how to do port forwarding. No harm intended

I was trying to upgrade my modem's firmware too but I found that according to BSNL this modem does not require firmware upgrade. So I dropped it. I suggest you if you do not have any problem with your modem do not upgrade firmware.

Why you need to upgrade Firmware ?
Do you find any options under NAT missing ?

    1. Try reinstalling the torrent client.
    2. Which one are you using ? utorrent ? Try another client like Vuze and check.
    3. Set the download speed to 60 KBps and check.
4 port forwarding which ports used ? Check in Portforward.com
    5. Enable uPnP ( if seen in WAN page)and check.
6.What is the speed of your plan ?
    Check speed here.
