Post Unable to connect through wifi simultaneously with laptop and desktop

    Hi..

Yesterday, i got a Belkin desktop wireless adater for my desktop. I had installed the card successfully and I can see the signal strength being received by the desktop and I van conform that the signal strength is excellent received from the wi-fi modem.

Also I have a latest BSNL modem cum wifi router with BSNL broad connection .I have enabled the PPOE connection and using successfully with the laptop.

But I CANT Connect my Desktop PC to the connect to internet.I am getting a error saying the IP address is already used by another system on the network and I have limited access. I had used the same network password I am using on the laptop.

As there is a IP conlict ..how shall I assign different IP's and what should be the value.

    Please help me....

    1. Mention modem - model and make

    2. Try connecting your desktop using a RJ 45 cable and check.

    3. Start > Run > cmd > ipconfig/all for both machines.

    4. Enable DHCP in modem.

    5. In the TCP/IP properties of connection in both machines, set " Obtain IP address automatically.

    MAKE - BSNL TYPE 2
    MODEM Model - AR800V v3.0

I tried changing the TCP/IP settings on the systems to automatically select IP then I am not getting connected to the internet.Once I give 192.168.1.2 the internet gets started.

No issues connecting with RJ45 cable.

Can u please elaborate on DHCP advanced settings.
