Guys, i've DataOne 500 plan. For last two or three days i am getting only 30kBps download speed during the free download hours (Night 2am to morning 8am). Are you experiencing the same?
P.S- Speed becomes good in the other times of the day.

I feel the need, the need for speed...
You have BSNl and thats good and as speed amtters BSNl offer reliable speed. About 40% more than other Broadband ISP. My hathway gives abt 22 kbps at 256 kbps surfing.
Yours is 30 kbps and i suppose that should be at 256kbps surfing. This is the normal and good speed which i know from others exp.

Dude, i've 2MBps connection, not 256kBps. Have you read my post ?I mentioned that i'm a DataOne 500 plan customer. And FYI all of those customers have 2MBps now.

you must have given me plan name but someoone answering to your post wont go for checking out on BSNL site 500 plan. anyway if ur surfing is for 2mbps. then its terribly slow.
Always remeber there is a definite ratio of speed like at 256kbps browsing you get 25Kbps on average. now for 2mbps it should be about 200kbps downlaoding rate. If it isnt its slow. Check that installed wires are not outdates as low quality wire connection can surely bring that problem.![]()
Thanks for the reply, but the problem is not because of the cables certainly. As i told, the speed goes down for a particular time period of the day (during the free download hours only). In the other times of the day i do have a pretty fast download speed (around 200kBps). If there was something wrong with the cables then this should not happen.
If there is any DataOne user who has same kind of problem, please let me know about it.

hi xyz_chatter,
i m also facing d same prob. its around 200 kBps (2 mbps) during daytime, but during 2-8 am it falls down to 30-32 kBps (256 kbps) and after 7-30 or 8 it reverts back to 200. its started from last week of jan.
i think they have decided to do this to restrict their download in night time. but you can't complain, because in the tariff chart they have said the speed will be from 256 kbps to 2 mbps (not constantly at 2 mbps).
ha ha ha, all business strategies hide behind the keywords.

Well it's quite simple. If they give 2-8 2Mbps then Unlimited plans also should get 2Mbps. It's certainly 256 kbps when ever there is Unlimited plan. Let it be day time or even night time, as of now BSNL offers 256kbps for all Unlimited plans.
