Default Issues using two systems simultaneously - IP Conflict

    Hi,

I recently took a Wi-Fi BSNL broadband connection and the connection works with either laptop or with a desktop. I mean if I open my laptop and use the wi-fi it works fine and the same with the desktop which is using a wireless LAN to get connected to the WI-Fi.

The problem is if I simultaneously open both the laptop and desktop both the systems does not work with an error - conflicting IP's and both of them show the connection strength but when acquiring the IP both fail with a yellow exclamination mark and hence I could only one system at a time which should not be a feature of Wi-Fi.

Coming to the config details of the router ..WAN IP settings is set to OBTAIN AN IP ADDRESS AUTOMATICALLY but when I connect from laptop or desktop the IP address is not determined automatically and the BSNL people had asked me set the wireless connection properties -[ TCP / IP address to 192.168.1.2 and also set the subnet mask and primary gateway details without which the connection is not getting enabled] .

    Connection Details :

    Router - BSNL AR800V
    Laptop - Fujitsu Siemens

Please help me to use both the systems simultaneously. The issue is with IP conflict and how can I assign different IP's to get he connection on both the systems.

    Regards
    Prasan

    1. Configure in PPPoE mode.

    2. Enable DHCP in modem.

    3. In both systems, in TCP/IP properties, set " Obtain IP address automatically ".

    4. Start > Run > cmd > ipconfig/all, post the screen shot for both machines.

    Feedback.

1.Enable DHCP and give a range say 192.168.1.3 to 192.168.1.10
( usually seen in lan page)
see link teracom below for similar menu pages.
    2. Instead of "bridged" "Dialer" mode check PPP/PPPoE in wan page and enter your USERID and PW there.
    Feedback:
    Only lan and WLANipconfig /all
